Devney Perry’s Garnet Flats ARC Review

Thank you to Devney Perry and her team for the advance reader copy of Garnet Flats, the third book in The Edens series.

I love the Edens family and am so excited for Talia’s story. I am a sucker for a good second-chance romance.

I am a member of Devney Perry’s review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and genuine.

“Talia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again.

Until years later when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help.

The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight.

Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.”

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Talia Eden is our lead and a doctor in residence at the hospital in Quincy. This is the first time the Eden in our story is one of the daughters, so yes she is Griffin (Indigo Ridge) and Knox (Juniper Hill). She keeps her feelings bottled up, I think we all know someone like that. She loves her family, and her town and wants to give back as a doctor. Our hero is Foster, a literal fighter. He is incredibly loyal, caring, and a family man but with so much guilt, pain and regret. Both of these characters have a bit of a damaging past, but you cannot help but feel endeared to both of them. I liked all the characters that got introduced through Foster, Jasper whom we are getting a story from and Vivienne who I hope we get to see fall in love in the future.
  • Setting: Their story is set in the small town of Quincy, Montana. If you have read any other books in this series you will know the Edens are a huge fixture of Quincy, owning a ranch and the main hotel. I love the entire family and find it so fascinating how many in the town react with animosity. This book delivers good check-ins with our last two couples and gears up for a saucy future one. Foster decides to follow Eden here, 7 years later. I loved how he chose to build a better life in Quincy for his family and leave Las Vegas behind.
  • Pacing: I engulfed this book just like I have done with all the Edens books so far. I loved the way each secret was revealed over time until we finally saw the bigger picture.
  • Romance: This is a second-chance romance, seven years in the making. The details are insane and you really need to take them in one by one as you read the book. Talia and Foster have delicious chemistry. I love how they never stopped loving each other.

Garnet Flats receives five out of five stars.
