- Characters: Julianna was such an inspiring character. I loved how she and her business partners started their own business. I can imagine that the beer business is sexist and I loved how these women did not let a single guy push them around. Julianna’s determination sometimes blended into stubbornness and I felt a very similar feeling out of Riggs. Riggs is reluctantly home in Vermont and it shows. He is initially quite grouchy but as the story progresses you begin to understand why.
- Setting: The story is set in Gaskin, Vermont. There is not much time spent at the actual Speakeasy. The bar comes into play as Julianna’s brewery is competing for a dedicated tap at the Speakeasy.
- Pacing: I found this story a little hard to get into. Once I got through the first third, then it flew by.
- Romance: I did really enjoy this love story. The first kisses were all very adorable. This story is a very classic trope can one get the other to stay. Julianna never anticipated that her childhood crush would look her way. Riggs never expected a second chance at love and that the second chance would be at home in Vermont.
Wildflower receives four out of five stars.
