I want to thank Sierra Simone and the team at Bare Naked Words for providing me with an advance reader copy of Misadventures with a Curvy Girl. If you are unaware the Misadventures books can be read in any order, and all of them are standalone stories. Sierra Simone has previously written for the Misadventures series, the book entitled Misadventures with a Professor was my first foray into the Misadventures world. I found it super fun and quick read, so I jumped at the opportunity to review this book.

Here are my more detailed thoughts…
- Characters: Ireland, Caleb, and Ben are the main characters of this story. Ireland speaks to all of us girls who have moments of self-consciousness, and she was a bit quirky, but not over the top. Caleb and Ben were supportive and kind men, but it is Ireland’s character that takes up most of the story.
- Setting: The story is set in a small Kansas town, and gives off a cute small town feel.
- Pacing: This is an extremely short story, all the Misadventures stories are. They are perfect if you want a quick read. If you want to sit down for an evening and just read through an entire book in one sitting, this book is perfect for that.
- Romance: So you are aware, this is an MMF romance. If you are not comfortable with that I would not recommend picking up this book. One of the best parts of this romance was Ireland’s thought about it, in one scene she acknowledges the judgment she may receive from men about her stretch marks. I found this a refreshing thought as most NA authors do not address women feeling uncomfortable for a reason like this, but will rather focus on some broad sense of self-cosnciousness.
Misadventures with a Curvy Girl receives four out of five stars.
