Lauren Blakely’s One Exquisite Touch ARC Review

Thank you to Lauren Blakely and the team at Candi Kane PR for the advance reader copy of One Exquisite Touch. The first standalone in The Extravagant series releases on October 16th.

I am a member of Lauren’s review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true.

What more could you want from Lauren Blakely, a sexy masquerade, a little MFM action, a billionaire, and a rivals-to-lovers story! So many fun tropes wrapped up into a sweet little package!

Check out the Goodreads synopsis…

A sexy rivals-to-lovers standalone, rich with masquerades, billionaires and forbidden trysts!
When the invitation arrived, it detailed the rules of the masquerade — no names, no identities.
I set one more– find a most wicked man for one night.
The kind who’ll bring me deliciously naughty pleasure in dark corners.
But as the clock ticks to midnight, he finds me, whisks me away to a secret alcove, and delivers all that dirty bliss and then some.
We make arrangements for another secret rendez vous before I rush out of the ball.
But fate has other plans, since I see my most wicked man the next morning. Because that man is the billionaire owner of the hotel across the Strip from mine.
My rival. My enemy.
We vie for business every second of every day, so the last thing I can do is let him in my bed at night.
I give in one final time, in a daring, risqué game of chance, and then I vow to resist.
And that’s what I do every time I see him, every time I get to know the brilliant, mercurial man who wants a piece of my business.
Until the night he ups the stakes.
And I have no choice but to see his bet and raise it.
ONE EXQUISITE TOUCH is a wickedly racy, high-stakes love story between a man and a woman. It also features several sexy MFM love scenes.

One Exquisite Touch is a standalone in The Extravagant series. Other standalones include One Alluring Chance and One Shameless Secret.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Sage and Cole are the main characters of this sexy Sin city romance. Sage is the twin sister of Ivy from One Night Only, so she is also a co-owner of the family Hotel chain with her sister. She is the posh, determined, classy hotelier. While Cole is the hotelier of a rival hotel chain just across the street from Sage and Ivy’s.
  • Setting: Las Vegas baby! I love this perspective Lauren is giving of the hoteliers of Vegas, them being some of the permanent residents of both the city and the hotel. Often books set in Vegas feature an elopement or a vacation and not what it is like actually living and working there.
  • Pacing: Lauren made the choice to open up this story with the masquerade, she gave us a clear picture of Sage but left most of everything else all mysterious. It was such a good choice because the reader was able to give into the same indulgences that Sage was, we did not care who these two men she was having her tryst were instead, the reader gets as wrapped up in them as Sage did.
  • Romance: Lauren was not kidding when she teased this as her sexiest story yet! She has been featuring MFM scenes in her last few books but this one had way more than any previous story. The chemistry was on fire between Cole, Sage and Oliver. I gather Lauren will choose to give Oliver his own love story, as that is what she has done before. I would love it if maybe just once, one of her stories ended up in a triad. I get why she doesn’t go there but I am a believer in love doesn’t only have to be between two people so I would love to see her explore that one day.

One Exquisite Touch receives four out of five stars.
