The Sabine Valley series is shaping out to chucked full of triads, sword crossings guaranteed, sexy, yet emotional stories. I really enjoyed the first installment, Abel. So I was super pumped to read about Abel’s brother Broderick as his story is M/F/F. I just cannot help myself, I keep engulfing these stories.

- Characters: This installment’s trouple is Broderick, Monroe, and Shiloh. Broderick is hand-fasted to Monroe, so now he is kinda dealing with being married to the enemy, just to keep the peace. Broderick is your classic alpha and as Abel’s second in command, he is someone you wouldn’t want to mess with. But she is not the one he wants, he has always been in love with his best friend Shiloh. Shiloh had an extremely difficult childhood and ran away to join the Paine Brothers. Seeking that comfort, she also fell in love with Broderick. So these two live apart, determined not to tell the other about how they feel, until Monroe enters the picture. Monroe is the heir of the Amazons. Monroe is a bad bitch and I loved her. She puts up a hard exterior but she really began to care about Broderick, Shiloh, and ensuring lasting peace in Sabine Valley.
- Setting: Sabine Valley is the setting of the series. The society is fractured as there are multiple factions all vying for power. The Paine Brothers’ hand-fasting has caused quite the stir and now we are getting a real look at the Amazon faction. The politics of the Amazons is intense as we get a full picture of how diabolical Aisling, Monroe’s mother and the Amazon Queen can be.
- Pacing: The story is paced quite well, as there are many revelations as a part of the plot. I did not find aspects of this rushed rather I found that the way these three realized how they worked better together at just the right pace.
- Romance: Oh my is this ever a hot book! With the hand-fast comes a scene in which the marriage in consummated. That is only the start as these three had a chemistry and electricity that kept forcing them together. I especially loved the attraction the gals felt for each other. Especially with Monroe, nobody wanted to admit that someone they had always seen as the enemy was incredibly attractive and someone they very much desired. There’s electric scenes between all the characters in different duos, but they sure do shine brighter working in tandem together. Katee sure is the queen of the triad and I cannot wait to keep reading about more Paine Brothers and their conquests. Next up is Cohen, his bestie Maddox, and Monroe’s little sis Winry.
Broderick receives four out of five stars.
