Rhys Everly’s Insatiable ARC Review

Thank you to Rhys Everly, Sarina Bowen, Jenn Gaffney and the rest of the team at the World of True North for the advance reader copy of Insatiable, the eleventh story in the Vino & Veritas world.

We have had readers in this series but never an author so I was super excited for this installment. It is another five-star read in the World of True North universe.

Check out the Goodreads synopsis…

It was just a bet . . . until feelings got involved.

This job sucks but someone’s got to do it. My readers expect me to chronicle my very real, very steamy encounters in my novels. I’d never want to disappoint my fans, but the creative well has run a bit dry. Burlington, Vermont, seems like a good place to fill it up. This town offers a tempting array of artists, craftsmen, farmers, lumbersexuals . . . and so many beards.

But no one prepared me for Brody. He’s young. He’s hot. He’s definitely a grump. And he’s getting under my skin. Where I want him is under my bed sheets.

When my friend bets I’ll never be able to get Brody there, I make winning my mission. Turns out being with Brody is more than a plot device. He’s so very wrong for my life . . . but is he right for my heart?

Insatiable is a standalone book in the Vino & Veritas series by Heart Eyes Press and contains a big/small, grumpy/sunshine pairing, a bed-hopping author, a jilted sugarmaker and a reluctant fake relationship.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Logan is an erotica author who is always on a conquest for his latest hookup. He is a Brit who is running off to Vermont to find a new muse. He chose Vermont on the recommendation of his friend Harrison (the owner of Vino & Veritas and whose love story you can read in Featherbed). Logan is bubbly, the smooth talker and you cannot help but cheer him on in his quest to win Brody’s heart. While Brody is a bit of a grouch haha. He was abandoned at the alter just three months ago and he sure is not over it. He is running a maple wine business but is kinda sucking at the business part. I could not help but feel love for both of the guys.
  • Setting: The story is set in Burlington, Vermont. I am just so in love with this fictional version of small-town Vermont with the cutest gay bar/bookstore, Vino & Veritas.
  • Pacing: The pacing of this romance was A+. The boys did not fall into a bed together at a pace that was too fast, or too slow, it was just right. Brody had such a damaging breakup, he needed that time to heal and I am happy that Rhys Everly gave that to him.
  • Romance: The romance kicks off with Logan making a bet with the guys at V&V that he can get Brody in his bed. I loved the multiple scenes where Logan had to pretend to be Brody’s new beau in front of his horrid ex multiple times. I loved how Logan would lay it on thick with Brody, that he would be all suave and charming and Brody would have no time for it. Brody needed Logan to be that cheerleader both at work and in life.

Insatiable receives five out of five stars.
