Emma Hart’s Tequila Tequila ARC Review

Thank you so much, Emma Hart and Social Butterfly PR for the advance copy of Tequila Tequila, which is out today!

Here is the synopsis: “Don’t sleep with your best friend.

Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful.

I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad.

The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables.

Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes of tap-tap-squirt.

Awkward. Embarrassing. And the new subject of a couple of dirty lucid dreams.

But I have no intention of telling him what we did. Nothing good comes from telling your best friend he’s the worst guy you’ve ever slept with.

Which makes the tequila on my birthday a very, very bad idea…”

My thoughts below as always will be spoiler free…

  • Characters: Aspen and Luke were awesome. Aspen is such a strong female voice that is guaranteed to make you laugh, while Luke is her best friend and the only person who has broken down her tough exterior.
  • World/Setting: Just another American city, nothing special. The book shines due to its characters, plot, and humour rather than the setting.
  • Pacing: Slightly off from the last few of Emma’s books that I have read. The story did feel like it was dragging mid-way through.
  • Romance (yay or nay?): This was such a fun take on a best friends to lovers romance. At some points, I did desire more communication between Aspen and Luke, but it was somewhat understandable as they were keeping secrets from each other. I do wish more of the book featured them together rather than spending so much time in their heads while they debated becoming more than just friends.

I give this hilarious read, four out of five stars.
