Are You New to NA… This is Where You Should Start

I was lucky when I started to read New Adult a few years ago that there were many reviewers that steered me in the right direction, so I want to do that for you now. There are important things to consider when jumping into NA for the first time: Don’t go hardcore or extreme right away! This might put you off NA forever. NA deserves a gradual entry, one should start with novels that tow the line between NA and YA. My recommendation for someone’s very first NA book is… Slammed tells the story of an eighteen-year-old girl who moves to a new city with her mother, after the death…

Author Spotlight on Krista and Becca Ritchie (and Mini Assignment #2)

The nerves come from two of my favourite series concluding this fall. Let’s start with excitement! Tangled Like Us releases sometime this fall (a date has not been set yet, but hopefully will soon.) Tangled Like Us is the fourth book in the Like Us Series (which is the spinoff series to the phenomenal Addicted series). The Like Us series follows the children of the characters of Krista and Becca Ritchie’s previous series. This world of their’s is one of my absolute favourites. Without…

The NA Books That Have Made Me Cry…

It was quite common for me to shed a tear during each and every YA book I read, where as NA has not had a similar effect. I have noticed over the years that I do not cry as commonly as I had before while reading. I know that NA follows usually a similar pattern in which when a couple does get together, and then a conflict while arise around 65-85% of the way through the novel that breaks them up. The later part of the story tends to show how they get back together and make amends for whatever broke them up in the first place. I think knowing…
