Thank you to Lauren Blakely and her team for the ARC of The Virgin Gift, the latest installment in Lauren’s After Dark series.
This After Dark series has been a wonderful deviation from Lauren’s usual lighthearted rom-com style novels.
Check out the Goodreads synopsis below…
“I might be a virgin, but I know what I want in bed. It’s just that I haven’t found him yet.
So I’m stunned when charming, laid-back Adam volunteers to work through my wish list. That’s when I discover the voracious, commanding man in him, my next door neighbor. And I’m enthralled — in and out of the bedroom.
Every night we explore my fantasies, and every morning I try harder not to want more from him. Because there’s no item on my list about falling for the guy. Besides, we agreed to the last item already — when we’re done we walk away.
But every fantasy unlocks another. Each hotter than the last. Until I discover there’s one last thing on my to-do list to check off. One so daring I can’t figure out how to ask him or what it might do to my heart…
The Virgin Gift is a red hot and sexy exploration love story exploring all sorts of fantasies.“

- Characters: Nina and Adam are the main characters of this latest After Dark instalment. Adam is the kind of guy who is warm, comforting, the all-around good guy on the outside who has the hidden side of him that Nina brings out. One could say the same about Nina, that once she opens up to Adam her character really flourishes.
- Setting: the story is set in Las Vegas, but instead about being on the glitz and glamour of the strip. It’s more about the people who live there every day.
- Pacing: This is a super quick read. Perfect for those who want something a little steamy in their life but don’t have the time to commit to a longer story.
- Romance: Nina and Adam are the perfect friends to lovers story. It is not until they are presented with an opportunity to get to know each other in a more intimate way, that they fall in love.
