I love this trilogy and am sad to leave Charlotte and Perry’s story behind. I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews. THIRD BOOK IN THE ARRANGED MARRIAGE TRILOGY! Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty… The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors. Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Charlotte is her own hero now and I love it! She had some of the best character development among the Dangerous Press heroines. I loved her character development and was overall satisfied with her character arc. The previous instalment had Perry starting his full alpha, protective husband path, and now he had gone pretty full throttle. Perry may be even more alpha than his brother Winston (Cinderella trilogy) and I kind of loved it. He had such a great personal journey towards admitting just how much he loved his wife and the life they started to build together. Setting: Our story returns us to New York City. I love their little apartment and how it represents the life they are building together there. Pacing: The pacing was a bit of a mixed bag. I did enjoy that the Charlotte being kidnapped portion of the book did not overpower the entire story. The ending did feel rushed though and I did not agree that every plot point in the later chunk was needed to enrich this story. Romance: Charlotte and Perry are a standout Dangerous Press couple! I love their physical chemistry and how it matched their emotional intensity. The sex is always hot with these two, especially in a particular bathtub scene. The Reckless Union receives four out of five stars.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Charlotte is her own hero now and I love it! She had some of the best character development among the Dangerous Press heroines. I loved her character development and was overall satisfied with her character arc. The previous instalment had Perry starting his full alpha, protective husband path, and now he had gone pretty full throttle. I loved The Reluctant Bride a lot! I loved Percy, Charlotte and their arranged marriage. I am ecstatic to be continuing their story. I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. “I didn’t plan to marry a reclusive heiress. Lucky for me, I find myself attracted to my beautiful new bride. Our arranged marriage connects two powerful companies. That we’re compatible between the sheets is a bonus, but I didn’t bargain on her ex showing up at the wedding reception uninvited. That pushed me right over the edge. I protect what’s mine, and Charlotte is now mine, whether she likes it or not. Our honeymoon is a disaster in paradise. I’m angry. She’s resentful. All those swirling emotions explode in the most physical ways. But even as I’m drawn closer to my new wife, there’s still a threat looming out there. Seamus McTiernan is determined to destroy what we’ve created. I won’t let anything tear us apart. He has no idea who he’s dealing with. I will end him. Watch me.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Charlotte is really coming into her own. She is more confident and more sure of herself. I loved how she was more willing to take risks, to be more sensual and sexual. Perry has such an interesting characterization in this story. Winston, Perry’s brother and the lead from the Cinderella series (which if you haven’t read yet, you must!) put it best. He says that the girls in their lives bring out the crazy in them. I loved seeing Perry get all protective and possessive over someone. For the first time, love is rattling Perry and he can’t stop it. Setting: I loved that we got to go along with the newlyweds to Mexico. As a setting, it really fits well with how Charlotte and Perry were challenged to open up to each other and get more vulnerable. Mexico was incredibly romantic. Otherwise, the story returns to New York City and the neighbourhood of Bishop’s Landing, and I never tire of it. Pacing: This book went by quickly. I engulfed it one morning in bed. The plot lines and story beats are predictable but are nonetheless great escapism. Romance: These two have intense chemistry. There are so many powerful emotions at play, growing love and an anger. The anger brought out some hot sex scenes across the pages of this story. The honeymoon section was phenomenal. Some amazingly tensioned scenes were mixed in with the great character and relationship development. I cannot help but root for Charlotte and Perry, a couple that was put together by conniving mothers. Yet a couple so perfect for one another. I want these two odd ducks of their families to find one another and find love. The Ruthless Groom receives five out of five stars. Ever since Perry waltzed onto the page in Winston’s story I wanted to know about this elusive Constantine brother. So many fun tropes in this one from strangers-to-lovers, to a marriage of convenience. I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. “𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦’𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦, 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦. One moment I’m the forgotten daughter of one of the most wealthy families in the country, and the next I’m the blushing bride in an arranged marriage. My fate is sealed in my wedded union with a complete stranger. In public, Perry Constantine is the life of the party. Easygoing. Adored. In private, he’s brooding. Dark. Angry. But so am I. It’s a contest of wills to see who will break in the bedroom first, and while I try to remain strong, I find myself craving the very man I swore to hate. 𝘔𝘺 𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Perry Constantine is this book’s hero. I have been so excited to finally get into his head. This wannabe bad body with tattoos, rings, unbuttoned shirts and messy hair. A former party boy, who always had a different woman on his arm each night. That is until his mom finds him a wife. Enter Charlotte Lancaster, the only daughter of a wealthy old-money family. She had a bit of an indiscretion in France while away at university and now her parents are punishing her by forcing her to marry Perry. Perry and Charlotte’s character development was phenomenal and how they began to understand themselves better as they fell for each other. I loved having Ash and Tinsley in this story, I want more Constantine cameos as it feels like we have spent more time with the Morellis recently. I like the introduction of the Lancasters as an old-money New York family, to contrast with the Constantines. It reminded me a bit of the dynamics between old money and new money in the Gilded Age television show, which I love. Setting: We did not spend too much time in Bishop’s Landing, instead we have two characters fighting for their own agency. It was interesting to see Bishop’s Landing depicted as a prison, as stuck in the past and to see what living in New York City represents for their future. Pacing: The pacing hooked me into the story from the start. It felt slightly longer than previous Dangerous Press releases and I enjoyed that so much! I didn’t want this story to be over and especially after a twist near the end I am begging for more. I am sad I have to wait a few months now. Romance: I loved Perry and Charlotte’s initial attraction and how they decided to team up. What was nice to see though that even though they had an initial physical attraction, was that they stumbled around trying to understand each other. I loved as the story went on they became an even stronger team, who fought for one another’s safety and well-being. It took a while to get these two in bed together, but once they did it was so damn hot! I cannot wait to see what’s to come in future instalments. The Reluctant Bride receives four out of five stars.
