Of two individuals living their lives apart but were meant to live them together. I loved getting to read two sides of a love story coming back together again. I was glad to see a male character display so much emotion. 4 stars. Katee Robert’s Last Christmas: I was excited to see an O’Malley show up. I am a huge fan of all of Katee’s work and this story is no exception. This story is about Carrigan’s nephew Cael. I loved how this one is an older woman and a younger man. Falling in love with a Senator’s wife, how scandalous. I loved this short and sexy, yet still sweet. 5 stars. M. O’Keefe’s Little Drummer Boy: This story is about Zilla, Poppy’s sister. I love that this one featured an unconventional friend with benefits relationship. The sex was hot but I wanted to be more invested. They may have worked better with a longer story. 4 stars. Jenika Snow’s It Came Upon a Midnight Clear: Gallina and Arlo are a couple of Jenika’s from a previous book. A book I have never read so I did not have any prior investment in them. I found them a riveting couple with incredibly hot sex. 4 stars. Maria Luis’ Carol of the Bells: Laela Donna is being a recluse but a sexy mystery man is attempting to seduce her. I really loved this one and all the twists in it. 4 stars. Sienna Snow’s Silent Night: Greek mafia! I love the change from it always being about Italians, Irish or Russian mobsters. This was an interesting relationship dynamic. 3 stars. Jade West’s Away in a Manger: Yes! It is time for Lucian and Elaine. I loved getting to see them as parents. Lucian is such a softie with his kid and I adore how he melts for Elaine. The sex scene was hot of course! 5 stars. M. O’Keefe, Serena and the rest of the team at Dangerous Press for the advance reader copy of Untamed, the third book in the Hearts series. It is time for the hugely anticipated final instalment in the Hearts series. I have loved Poppy and Ronan’s relationship from page one and after the twist at the end of book two who was not excited! I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “Marriage has always meant violence. I don’t trust it, but it’s the only thing keeping me afloat in these dark undercurrents. I married for safety but I got the most dangerous thing in the world—Ronan Byrne for a husband. Now we’re returning to Bishop’s Landing to face our demons. Mine. His. We have real enemies to conquer, but it’s the fear in my heart that beats the loudest. I can’t stop being in love with him. Except the killer with the heart of stone doesn’t love me. I don’t know whose family I belong in anymore. Or whether I should stay with Ronan when this is over. But I may not live long enough to make the choice.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: My absolute favourite thing about this instalment was how much Poppy is really growing into her own. She has this new confidence and I loveeee it! She even stands up to Caroline Constantine on her own. Poppy refuses to be pushed around by anyone anymore, she has spent too much of her life as a pawn. Yet despite all of this Poppy never loses her heart that I adore so much. Awww Ronan I just love how much it pains him to resist Poppy. He is such a classic alpha character that so many of us romance readers love. He would kill for her before he could ever muster up the courage to admit he loves her. Setting: As the story opens the characters are whisked away from Ireland and back to New York City. Eden Morelli is pivotal in these early chapters and I absolutely loved her! She seemed like a very interesting character and I really want her story. She is not the only one. I really really liked Poppy’s sister Zilla and what might be a potential romance with a bodyguard. Pacing: I just always engulf all these stories and this one was no exception. Now that this trilogy is completed I would really recommend it to every reader to give it a good binge. Romance: Damn this book is hot! One of my fave scenes was early on and it was a bit of MFF action and it was so incredibly hot! I loved how these two and the leaps and bounds their relationship took in this final book. This was yet another awesome couple. Plus there is a great cameo of another romance I love from the Midnight Dynasty world. All in all, another great finale and another great couple. Untamed receives five out of five stars. O’Keefe, and the team at Dangerous Press for the advance reader copy of Broken Hearts, the second installment in the Hearts trilogy. I love Dangerous Press!!! I have been screaming this for months and if you have not listened by now, I do not know what will make you listen. They have such phenomenal series including this one. Please read my review of Stolen Hearts, if you need any convincing to pick these up. I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “Ronan. His name thrums through me like a heartbeat. I climbed out of the smoldering crater of my life only to find myself back in the middle of a slow-motion trainwreck. I’m hunted, torn between my past and present, ripped apart by two warring families. My husband is dead, and his killer is the only man who’s ever felt the deep well of emotion I keep hidden from the world. Ronan. Vicious and scarred—his rough touch is seared into my skin, but his soft caresses are what break down my walls bit by bit. Until there’s only me left. My soul in his bloody hands, and my broken heart beating just for him. Only him. Ronan. My shadowy protector, my phantom lover—kiss me or kill me, I don’t care. As long as you’re the one who does it.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Poppy and Ronan are the main characters of this trilogy. They both had some great character development over the course of this second installment in their story. Poppy has become a lot less timid, from a shy girl to a feisty fighter of a woman. I love when she just did what she wanted and it annoyed Ronan. He went through even more character development. Ronan was much more vulnerable. It truly allowed the reader to have a better understanding of his past and what motivates him. He may have been working as an enforcer but at his core, he is a bit broken inside. My heart breaks for him because he does not see himself as worthy for someone like Poppy, he cannot see his self-worth. Hopefully just not yet. Setting: The story is set in a small North Irish town, well on the outskirts of it anyways. In a cottage on the property of a church. The church where Ronan grew up, a setting that really allowed for the exploration and unpacking of his character. The cottage is secluded from the rest of the world, which allowed for their relationship to grow. I really enjoyed that they had the time together to really work on it. Pacing: The story almost takes place in a blip, there one minute and done the next. You cannot help but engulf these Dangerous Press reads. There are so many mysteries and secrets in this story from Ronan’s past to why the Morelli are hunting them and it all unravels at the perfect pace. The last 20% of the book or so was just a chef’s kiss when it comes to the payoff of waiting for mysteries to be revealed. Romance: This second instalment really allowed for some awesome relationship growth. I love how over time the lustful relationship between a timid girl and an alpha male enforcer is becoming the love of a strong woman and the man who only softens his heart for her and has since the moment he laid eyes on her. Poppy has had a horrible marriage and Ronan has been largely alone his whole life. These facts only make it more clear that these two are deserving of great love. As we await the final instalment I can only pray for a beautiful happily ever after and I sure cannot wait to see them live it. Broken Hearts receives four out of five stars. O’Keefe, Serena and the Dangerous Press team for the advance reader copy of Stolen Hearts, the first book in the Hearts Trilogy. This story releases on January 12th! A mafia fixer and a woman that belongs to another man. What a juicy combo, for Dangerous Press’ first release of 2021. I am a member of the Dangerous Press’ Review Team, this does not affect the honesty and integrity of my review. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “The flare of a cigarette and the handsome Irishman in the shadows–I wanted it all, but I wasn’t allowed to want. Ronan was danger and beauty, murder and mercy. To me, he was a mystery, but he was also the only man who ever knew me. In that single stolen moment before I had to give my life to someone else, I imagined myself with him, the man with scars and bruises. The one who knew what hurting meant far more than I did at that time. Instead I was given to another man, one who broke my soul right along with my bones. Through it all, there was always that memory of the man in the shadows, the one who said–not in words–that I was strong, that I could endure, that I was more than just a princess in a ballgown. Now Ronan is the only man who could keep me safe from two warring families that wanted my blood. The spark that started two years ago burned brighter with each touch, each glance, each kiss. He woke me from the nightmare, giving me life with soft touches and sharp words. Two years ago, Ronan gave me strength, but he took something in return. I never gave him my heart, but hearts like mine are made to be stolen.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Ronan and Poppy are the main characters of this latest instalment in the world of Constantines and Morellis. Poppy was orphaned in her late teens and forced to take up custody of her sister and her father’s debts. She was not going to be able to make it on her own so Caroline Constantine found her a husband who would be able to financially help Poppy. All he has done though is trap her in a loveless abusive marriage. Ronan works for Caroline as a bodyguard/fixer/jack-of-all-trades in the mafioso world. The Irish immigrant was emotionally and physically abused before he escaped for America with Caroline’s help. Caroline actually plays a huge role in this story as the helper and the refugee for many characters. Pacing: The story opens with the night Poppy and Ronan first meet and after a brief flirtation we fast forward two years. Two years into Poppy’s marriage and Ronan waltzes back into her life. The encounter she had the night of her engagement party had never left her. There were twists and intrigues throughout the story that just kept me reading. This is definitely a satisfying quick read. Setting: Bishop’s landing is the center of the Constantine universe but I really feel as if it did not get to be there that much in previous books in the universe. Yet in this story Bishop’s landing is its own character, it is the only home Poppy has ever know really. So even when she has the opportunity to venture away from it more she feels reluctant to do so and still feels a pull to remain in place. Romance: Poppy and Ronan’s flirtation at her engagement party should have been nothing more than that, a fleeting moment of intrigue. Two years later neither of them have forgotten about that night. Two years have passed with Ronan alone and Poppy trapped in a loveless abusive marriage. This story represents a chance for them to be together despite the odds and despite everything that tells them they shouldn’t. These two have electric chemistry, even just their normal convos drip with sexual tension. This is only the first book so now HEA in sight yet but by god am I ever rooting for these two. Stolen Hearts receives four out of five stars. Thank you to M.

Check out the Goodreads synopsis…

“The flare of a cigarette and the handsome Irishman in the shadows–I wanted it all, but I wasn’t allowed to want.

I never gave him my heart, but hearts like mine are made to be stolen.”

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Ronan and Poppy are the main characters of this latest instalment in the world of Constantines and Morellis.
  • Pacing: The story opens with the night Poppy and Ronan first meet and after a brief flirtation we fast forward two years. Two years into Poppy’s marriage and Ronan waltzes back into her life. The encounter she had the night of her engagement party had never left her. There were twists and intrigues throughout the story that just kept me reading. This is definitely a satisfying quick read.
  • Setting: Bishop’s landing is the center of the Constantine universe but I really feel as if it did not get to be there that much in previous books in the universe. Yet in this story Bishop’s landing is its own character, it is the only home Poppy has ever know really. So even when she has the opportunity to venture away from it more she feels reluctant to do so and still feels a pull to remain in place.
  • Romance: Poppy and Ronan’s flirtation at her engagement party should have been nothing more than that, a fleeting moment of intrigue.
