Read all my World of True North reviews here. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “She’s a political princess and media darling… There’s no such thing as bad publicity. Yeah, right. Tell that to the PR firm that handles Tracy’s very prominent political family. Pushed by scandal from Boston to the boondocks, now she’s on the other side of the serving tray, dishing up beer and burgers, hoping no one recognizes her. But there’s something very familiar–and maddeningly tempting–about the new caterer at Speakeasy. He’s a cranky recluse… Colton was the star of the celebrity chef circuit until he wasn’t anymore. Now he lives in a remote country cabin and spends his time alone, far from the spotlight and liking it that way. Until the gorgeous new waitress at Speakeasy starts poking at his resolve and suddenly all he wants is to see her let down her hair. And spread it all over his pillow. She’s got secrets he knows he won’t like, but he can’t stay away from her. She lives in the spotlight, and he hates attention. When her public life collides with his private one, can their love write a fairy-tale ending after all?” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Tracy flees Boston and ends up in Colebury, Vermont. Her family are very visible political figures and after a kerfuffle of epic proportions, Tracy needs to hide out for a bit. On her own and without help for the first time, Tracy is forced to get a waitressing job and wash her clothes at a laundromat. She is not the only one who ran to Colebury to hide, Colton was a celebrity chef who had to run away from the spotlight. He is yet another cooking school friend of Audrey Shipley who hides out in Vermont and swears off cooking. That is until Tracy turns his life upside down. She is pure sunshine and he is a big grump. It made for such a cute premise. Setting: Colebury is a small quaint Vermont town. The speakeasy taproom really gets to shine in this installment. Tracy reluctantly picks up a job their waitressing and helps convince Colton to start cooking again, as the speakeasy’s catering chef. Pacing: I was happy to see these two not fall for each other too fast. Instead, we got some really good snark and animosity that was built in the first half of the novel, devolve into some stellar chemistry. Various reveals like Colton’s celebrity chef past and Tracy’s real name are timed very well. Definitely the mark of an author who knows how to pace a good romance novel. Romance: Colton and Tracey went from enemies to being hot and heavy in bed together to roommates to maybe even more. I loved their journey. They really brought out the best in each other and that was something both of them really needed. Sideways receives four out of five stars. There’s no such thing as bad publicity. Yeah, right. Tell that to the PR firm that handles Tracy’s very prominent political family. Pushed by scandal from Boston to the boondocks, now she’s on the other side of the serving tray, dishing up beer and burgers, hoping no one recognizes her. He’s a cranky recluse…

Colton was the star of the celebrity chef circuit until he wasn’t anymore.

When her public life collides with his private one, can their love write a fairy-tale ending after all?”
