Thank you to K. Webster and her team for the advance reader copy of The Heart of Smoke, the third Shameful Secret story.

I love a little hit of taboo from K. Webster and this series delivers both a steamy romance and a bit of a surreal emotional experience. The time the Park family is delivering an M/M romance with Jude falling for his therapist Tate.

I am a K. Webster review team member, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews.

He’s a mysterious recluse with an unhealthy obsession with his therapist. He doesn’t want help… He just wants him.

Love is for those who deserve it. I certainly don’t. The person I loved most in this world died in my arms decades ago and I am to blame. I’ll forever be tormented by what-ifs where I was Mom’s hero instead of this repulsive, mask-wearing beast I’ve ultimately become. All that’s left of my heart is black smoke—suffocating and toxic. I’m nothing but a shadow of a man, locked in my dark fortress of a home, away from people and hidden in my carefully walled-up world. My family is all I have to live for. Somehow, they look past the fact I survived when Mom didn’t. Like it’s not my fault. It’s also why I’ll protect them with every single fiber of my being. Even from him. Tate Prince has been paid by my father to infiltrate our family. Invited not just into our homes, but into our past, our heartaches, and even our minds. Dad thinks this young man—a therapist with a captivating grin—is the key to repairing all the damage we’ve sustained over the years. But I know better. I can see through Tate’s friendly disposition and easygoing nature. In his eyes are dark secrets that haunt him like ghosts from another life. He’s not as perfect as he seems. Underneath his mask of smiles are ugly truths I’m desperate to uncover. And I will uncover them. If that means keeping him under lock and key where I can watch his every move, I will. It’s not captivity if he’s being paid, right? However, when I start unraveling his life, I learn there’s a lot more to Tate than meets the eye. The more I discover, the more obsessed I become. My heart, the dusty, charred, still-smoking useless organ sparks to life making me come to a startling realization. I want him. I’m not the only one who feels this way, though. Tate’s biggest secret is he already has a monster in his life. A terrible, spiteful monster—one who’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants. But I’m uglier, nastier, and a hell of a lot more vicious. I may have failed to save my mother, but I will not fail this time. Tate is mine.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Jude and Tate are the leads in the latest Park saga. Jude is the Park, a member of the most influential and well-off family in town. This family is struggling though, with an eclectic group of characters really in need of a neutral party to talk to, enter Tate. Callum, the lead from The Teacher of Nothing hires Tate to help him, his student-turned-wife Willa, and the throuple from The Tangle of Awful: Aubrey, Hugo, and Spencer. Jude may be the most troubled of them all though, keeping his face behind a mask after sustaining damage in the housefire that killed his mother. Tate may have been hired to help the family, but in turn, it is the family that helps Tate begin to heal after he escapes an abusive relationship. As Tate is everyone’s therapist, there are lots of character cameos that will make fans of this series happy. Warning everyone that this family and its taboo tropes are not for the faint of heart, make sure you are ready before you dive in. There are times I love the taboo of it all while I am reading it, but at least in this book it really feels the least taboo of them all. I also loved all the teases for Dempsey’s book, give me another age-gap romance!
  • Setting: Park Mountain is the town in which the story takes place, but really the central location is Jude’s home. He’s a recluse and so much of the story takes place in his bedroom and all of this contributed to the surreal emotional reading experience of these two boys in desperate need of each other’s comfort.
  • Pacing: I flew through this book in about two days. As the stakes in the story rose so did my desire to just keep reading. I loved the pacing of the relationship too. I was on the edge of my seat in the latter third of the book when Jude and Tate’s inner and actual demons had to be battled and how they fought for each other and themselves.
  • Romance: Now for Jude and Tate’s love story which I was emotionally invested in quite quickly. What starts as Jude being a bit sinister and destructive morphs into how he heals himself by caring for Tate. Then Tate is going through a similar journey, as he’s never had anyone he can trust to help him carry his burdens. Don’t get me wrong this book is still quite steamy, maybe not as taboo as the previous two instalments, but this one for sure pulls on the heartstrings.

The Heart of Smoke receives 4/5 stars.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • This review will contain some spoilers for the previous book The Untamed.
  • Characters: Ronan, Ryder, and Raegan are all put through individual trials in this book. I went through this book in a whiplash of caring for a character, feeling incredibly sometimes even sickenly bad about what was happening to them and other times I was so frustrated. There is miscommunication throughout so much of the book, and all I wanted was for one of the children to talk to their parents about the rumour Devon stirred up in the previous instalment. That being said if K. Webster writes more books in this world, especially about Rowdy and/or Destiny I will most likely pick it up as I was super invested in a lot of the side characters and the side plots of this one.
  • Setting: The story is set in the Alaskan wilderness and for those who read The Untamed they will know this story opens with some of our characters kidnapped away from the homestead. Power to all of these peeps for making the best of it out in the woods, I could not do it.
  • Pacing: K. Webster always nails some pretty dynamic pacing, but I did find myself almost rushing to finish this book rather than wanting to savour it. Granted the characters do spend a decent chunk in captivity and while I do not think that it took up too much of the story. It did compel me to speed through the first half or so. Based on my feelings and weariness around the tropes you may ask why I was compelled to say yes to this ARC, well simply the cliffhanger at the end of the last book had me dying to know what would happen next.
  • Romance: I should preface this now with the kink this book explores is obviously not for me, but I gave it a chance because I have enjoyed countless K. Webster books in the past. I do even think The Wild is worth the read. This “romance” was a step too far and it wasn’t really even them being biological siblings that undid it for me, it was their lack of chemistry. The plot points for the relationship were way too predictable, and even once I figured out where Regan in particular would end up it just made me groan. I also want to mention that I understand completely why K. Webster depicted sexual assault scenes, the characters were kidnapped and someone would have been so disgustingly violated during that. What was jarring was reading about someone having sex for pleasure and then being sexually abused in the next scene, it was the whiplash that had me correctly uncomfortable for much of the story. This is a personal preference that I did not scenes so close together, and that when I am reading for fun there is only so much whiplash I can take.

The Unruly receives two out of five stars.

All I need are my siblings.
They’re my best friends.

Together, we’re free in the wild.

But the wilderness is also the home of predators.
Bears, bad weather, sickness.
Other people.

We thought we could live alone and unmolested by the latter.
We were so wrong.

With their sudden presence, everything about our lives is challenged.
Loyalties become twisted.
Hearts get tangled in the chaos.
Feelings and urges cross impossible lines there’s no coming back from.

Bewildering. Depraved. Perverted. Dark. Vile.

My secret desires are wrong.
They threaten everything I hold so dear.
I could fight against it if I were alone in these forbidden thoughts.

I’m not.
We’re in this together.

Content Warning

Please be warned that this story contains incestuous relationships, voyeurism, sexual assault and domestic violence of a side character, murder, and other scenes or themes that could be triggering to some readers. Read with caution.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Our main characters are Raegan, Ryder, and Ronan. Raegan is Devon and Reed’s eldest girl while the boys are second and third on the family tree. It was really interesting to see how Kristi chose to depict these three. There was some of the naivety you expect from kids who have grown up in the Alaskan wilderness. What disappointed me was how sheltered they were about sex, which is a complaint of the direction of Devon and Reed’s characters as parents. I did not really connect to any of the three kids, I found them more annoying than anything. They were bad at communicating, along with asking their parents. They read more like sheltered teens but it makes sense for how they were being raised. But I won’t blame them, I’ll blame their parents and some of the questionable decisions they make along the way.
  • Setting: This story is set in the Alaskan wilderness at the homestead that Reed and Devon have established for their children. It for sure has its dangers, not just the wildlife but strangers. The settlement is more built up since The Wild with having the boys get their own cabins on the same property. The secludedness built characters who were either cagey and unwilling to bend
  • Pacing: This is an incredibly fast-paced story. If you like your books as standalone, contained stories this will not be for you. I will give Kristi credit that the ending is such a huge cliffhanger it will make me want to pick up the next instalment.
  • Romance: K. Webster’s books tend to push the limits but this story is taking it to another level. The spice level in this story is relatively minimal as our three characters grapple with the wrongness of their feelings for each other. I knew about the incest plotline going in and it was still a bit too much for me. There is not too much physical stuff in this instalment, rather the tease of it and the tease of what is no doubt to come.

The Untamed receives three out of five stars.

So, K. Webster has graced us with new covers for her paranormal duology, first released in 2015. This is also my first K. Webster review as an official ARC team member. This series would be a decent binge for those who enjoy paranormal romance. But there are other K. Webster novellas, such as the taboo treats which are better reads.

I am a member of K. Webster’s review team, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews.

From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a steamy, action-packed, and emotional modern day guardian angel paranormal romance!

She’s my final and toughest assignment…

For six years, I’ve worked hard to prove my worth at HEA Corp. I’m a sure bet to be promoted to a Seraph Guardian—the elite who protect the good souls of Earth from meeting untimely deaths.

My wings are almost within reach.
Just one more task.

But Lark Miller isn’t just another simple assignment.
She’s wicked and evil.
At least that’s what her file says.

I’m to protect her until our sister company, HEL Enterprises, sends their Reapers to collect what’s theirs.
According to my intel, she’s a lost soul with a dark, hidden past and no hope of redemption.

There’s a problem, though.
Nothing is what it seems with the elusive woman.
She’s enigmatic, complicated…and beautiful which is a big problem.
Her very presence is a distraction for me.
I can’t risk everything I’ve worked for by letting my heart get involved.

There are also holes in the story I’ve been fed about her.
With each passing day, I get to know the real Lark, and discover more untruths about her.
Someone messed up.
It’s up to me to get to the bottom of it before it’s too late.

Her destiny is fire and damnation.
Mine is to make sure she gets there.

Or is it?
Maybe our future can be rewritten.
Maybe I can save her…

Alpha & Omega is book one in a duet with different couples. Book one is Alpha’s story with Lark. Book two is Alpha’s partner and best friend, Omega’s, story. Alpha & Omega ends with a happily ever after. This book contains some triggering themes including thoughts of self-harm, previous loss of family, depression, substance abuse, and explicit language. Alpha starts the story as a rule follower, a good soldier, that is until he meets Lark. Lark Miller is, “beautiful, but lost.” When we first meet her she is marred in depression, stress, and grief. She is a tattoo artist, an incredibly creative person who writes poetry. While I was reading Alpha & Omega, I found myself more fascinated by Lovenia and Omega’s characters. I am looking to more of their story.
  • Setting: This story’s setting is not really a focal point. It is a city, but there are a few sets that matter over the course of the story, from their respective apartments, the tattoo parlour, and the diner.
  • Pacing: This is a novella, so the story is quick but even knowing that I found the pacing super fast. I think this story could have been even longer, I would have added more time to Lark growing attached to Al, as I found the emotional tether of this relationship was established very quickly. I also found many story beats predictable, but predictability never takes away from my enjoyment of a story.
  • Romance: Alpha sure lives up to his name, he has incredibly alpha-like tendencies when it comes to Lark. He worries over her a lot, and yes she did things like faint in front of him, but he takes his job super seriously. So seriously he begins to fall for her. The forbidden elements of this story felt not as high stakes as they could have been, Alpha kept threatening to leave and saying he was destined to be killed but it all felt a bit melodramatic. There were some great emotional beats in this story, such as the entire tattoo scene where Lark gave Al his wings. But other things had me a bit disappointed, such as Al giving her the nickname Twiggy, which feels like something that should have been updated with this re-release. The nickname felt insensitive for a character like Lark who is struggling to maintain weight as she suffers immeasurably grief.

Alpha & Omega receives three out of five stars

From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a steamy, enemies-to-lovers modern day guardian angel paranormal romance!

She’s the reason for my failure…

I was supposed to be a Seraph Guardian—one of the most revered angels at HEA Corp—with my best friend and partner, Alpha.

But then, all hell broke loose.
Literally.

I’d been seduced and distracted by a Leviathan named Love.
She’s the devil’s most prized darling.
And I fell right into her wicked trap.
I’ll never get my wings because of her.

Now, I’ve been banished to work for HEL Enterprises with the enemy.
To say I’m miserable is the understatement of the millennia.

Love wants to pretend like she didn’t just ruin my entire existence.
That her twisted games didn’t destroy the very essence of who I am.

I hate Love.

But there’s more to Love than meets the eye.
I’m not the only one she plays games with.
It doesn’t take long for me to realize she’s in deep with the worst one of us all—our boss.

Even though I hate what she did to me, I can’t turn a blind eye to the way she’s being treated by him.
I’m one of the good guys after all, despite where my choices led me.

I can’t stand by idly and watch her take his cruel torture.
She may be a monster, but she doesn’t deserve that.

I’ve lost everything once before because of Love.
What do I really have left to lose by trying to save her?

Omega & Love is book two in a duet with different couples. This book is Omega’s love story. Book one is Omega’s partner and best friend, Alpha’s, story. Omega & Love ends with a happily ever after. This book contains some triggering themes including religious, military and war, S/A, and explicit language. Please read with care.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: This story is the sequel to Alpha & Omega, and I had high hopes for it because I was interested in Lovenia and Omega’s characters much more than Al and Lark. I enjoyed Omega’s character a lot, as he is one of the characters in this story that straddles good and bad. He obviously doesn’t want to serve the devil but he is stuck, unable or unwanting to help either side. Love’s character proved to be interesting. I love how Kristi works in the character’s original backstories, from their past lives as humans. Love’s past life as Lillian was heartbreaking to read, and totally makes sense as to why she is a servant of the devil. Similar to why it makes complete sense Alpha is such a loyal follower or a good soldier. I just wish her character was kept a bit more evil, as I found it better when characters could remain in the grey.
  • Setting: The setting does not matter much to this story at all.
  • Pacing: Again this story is super fast-paced, another novella-length instalment. I found so much just blended together and that not many scenes stand out, from the more romantic scenes to hot and heavy to important plot points.
  • Romance: Love and Omega’s story begins in Alpha & Omega with them beginning their tryst but not being ready to face the brunt of their feelings. These characters have red, hot passion which was on full display in Omega’s jealousy especially. I found it easier to root for them than our previous couple, as while you read you cannot help but grow your empathy for Love and Omega, to see how deserving they are of great love.

Omega & Love receives three out of five stars.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Our heroine is Aubrey, who storms back into town in need of help from her step-family. Her character archetype is that classic good girl who turns bad after some serious drama. It does not take long for Aubrey’s newer reputation to bear fruit as she starts to chase after both her step-father Hugo and her step-brother Spencer. Hugo is very charming, a politician who knows how to stay buttoned up in public. Behind closed doors is another story. His son is Spencer, who comes across right away as a bully. He calls Aubrey leech for example. He had a more sensitive sight that only she was able to bring out.
  • Setting: This story is set in Park Mountain. As the name suggests, this town is just overrun by the Parks family. It is the same setting as Teacher of Nothing, which featured Callum Park falling for Willa. They get some time in this story and I loved checking in on them. Plus it was so lovely to see Willa befriend Aubrey. Of course, the other Parks and Parks-adjacent characters are teased, and next up we are getting into Jude’s head.
  • Pacing: I was really into this premise from the start. All I wanted to do was engulf the story. I had a few issues with the pacing and plot near the end of the story. Krisit through in some curveballs and not all of them landed with me.
  • Romance: This is an unconventional love story. I fully trusted Kristi to deliver something hot and heavy, as her track record of controversial taboo stories speaks for itself. So yes there were countless sexy-as-sin scenes, not just between either duo but maybe a few with Aubrey enjoying both men at the same time. Teacher of Nothing had quite an emotional thread so I was pumped to see if this story would too. I found I was not as emotionally invested in either couple, as I flirted back and forth between whether Aubrey should explore keeping her relationships with boy men or just stay with one person. Lots of wild elements are thrown in near the end and it shifted the romance dynamic, but don’t let that sway you too much just accept that this book is a wild time and embrace it!

I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. All I wanted is for my little sister Della to be safe and happy. And maybe, in brief stolen moments, I dreamed of a happy ending for myself with a brown-eyed man. That hope has turned into sharp, bright fear. There’s only survival now. Both Landry and Della changed the boys, even Scout. He still has his psychotic nature but it was wonderful to see him do sweet things like my breakfast for Della. Setting: The story is primarily set in the triplets’ apartment. Bouncing from room to room, but more like from bed to bed. The setting kind of lacking in this one, but I understand the limitations K. I could not help myself and finish it. I just wish it was a little longer as this was only a duology, rather than the trilogy most of these stories have been. Romance: Damn this book is hot! Since this duology started we have all been waiting to see who Landry would pick. Having been a huge K. Webster fan for a while I had always hoped Landry would never have to choose. I was waiting to see the four of them in bed together and it sure did not disappoint. I know this is an unconventional romance and if you know this isn’t for you, then don’t read it. If you love taboo books then I don’t need to be the one to tell you that Kristi is the queen of taboo and this book delivers her signature style. Webster and the Dangerous Press team for the advance reader copy of Triple Threat, releasing on January 11th! The first Dangerous Press release of 2022! Only K. Webster would take her villainous terror triplets from the Cinderella series and turn them into the heroes of the story. I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. “I’m a prisoner in a prestigious world. A perfect princess locked in a tower. My father will never let me go. Not that I could leave. I would never abandon my little sister. Hope comes in the form of a devilishly handsome man with dark eyes and darker secrets. With each encounter, I’m lured deeper into the labyrinth. The danger lurking beneath his surface calls to me, even as it warns me away. Except there’s a new side of him every time we meet. A different danger each time we touch. It’s as if three different men want to devour me. He’s not just one villain. He’s three.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Landry is our heroine. Within pages K. Webster had me hooked to Landry’s story. She is a fighter in, to say the least, a tough predicament. With an abusive father and a younger helpless sister, Landry has to straddle keeping him at ease and planning an escape for her and her sister. Despite living quite a sheltered life, Landry is bold and feisty, she kept all three boys on their toes throughout the story. The triplets are Sully, Sparrow, and Scout. These nephews of Bryant Morrelli whom you will remember as the villains in Stroke of Midnight. Now they are beaten down and down on their luck. They are Morelli puppets who have been assigned to follow Landry. If you were worried that the triplets would be carbon copies of each other, don’t be. Scout is the most psychotic, Sparrow has a huge ego and Sully is the kindest. Setting: The story is set around New York City. Some time is spent at NYU as Landry is a new student and Sparrow infiltrates her classes. Not much actual learning is going on though, instead, these scenes make Landry grow closer to Sparrow. Sully spends his time with Landry at her family penthouse. He infiltrates himself as her sister, Della’s tutor. As he helps Della, he is able to cozy up to Landry and figure out what is going on in the home. Pacing: This is the first book in a duology and I really like what K. Webster did here in terms of laying the groundwork. Not only the groundwork for who these characters are but starting the romantic entanglement off perfectly. This story ends in a perfect place and I could not be more excited to jump into the final instalment in March. Romance: This is an unconventional romance, to say the least. Landry is developing separate romantic relationships without her even realizing it. The boys have different pet names and ways of showing affection. I did enjoy that because they were brothers they would get competitive about Landry, they all wanted to be the first to kiss her or to sleep with her. Now all I can think about is will the next make her choose one or will she find a way to keep all three? What keeps this book away from being a five star read is the romance did make me slighlty uncomfy in parts. So much was going on without Landry being in the know and I know that was the taboo element of this. But sometimes this was even a tad too taboo for me. Triple Threat receives four out of five stars. Thank you to K.

He’s three.”

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Landry is our heroine.
  • Setting: The story is set around New York City.
  • Pacing: This is the first book in a duology and I really like what K. Webster did here in terms of laying the groundwork. Not only the groundwork for who these characters are but starting the romantic entanglement off perfectly. This story ends in a perfect place and I could not be more excited to jump into the final instalment in March.
  • Romance: This is an unconventional romance, to say the least.

Webster and Candi Kane PR for the advance reader copy of Feuds and Reckless Fury, this story releases on June 1st! The first K. Webster story I ever read was Hale, her quintessential step-sibling romance. So I jumped the chance to pick up this story. Not only is it a stepsiblings romance, but it is also an enemies-to-lovers and an M/M love story. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes an angsty and emotional enemies-to-lovers gay romance standalone! There’s only one small problem.I may have underestimated my opponent.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Canyon and Alis are the stepbrothers, turned lovers. Canyon is a hotheaded, angry and angsty teen. He is an asshole through and through with a huge revenge fantasy. Canyon’s dad filed for divorce and left Canyon’s mom for his best friend. Canyon perceives this as his dad replacing him and hurting his mom deliberately so he makes it his mission to make Alis’ life miserable. Alis is the adopted son of Canyon’s dad’s fiance. Alis has trauma from his childhood, and his adopted father saved him when he was ten. He is incredibly self-conscience about his adopted dad keeping him, he is in constant fear that he will be kicked out. The boys start to see more than meets the eye. Canyon is more than just a dumb dock. Alis is more than an artsy nerd. I loved how their characters evolved over the course of this story. Setting: The story was set in Florida. They are high school seniors and yet that did nothing to withdraw the emotional intensity and the deep themes of the story. This story was really able to delve into depression, adoption, abuse, trauma, homophobia, teen pregnancy, and addiction. This really was a story about the consequences of hiding parts of yourself. Pacing: The pacing was A+ as these characters went through such phenomenal personal and romantic journeys. Romance: This sure is an intense romance with extreme sexual tension. I could not help but cry my eyes out for them. I loved how they slowly began to transition from hating each other to loving each other. There were so many adoring moments. I loved that they would share their interests. This may be one of the best K. Webster has ever written. I do not tend to read about high schoolers but Kristi writes them with such grit and emotional intensity. Feuds and Reckless Fury receives five out of five stars. From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes an angsty and emotional enemies-to-lovers gay romance standalone!

The hatred began when my father proposed to another man in a shocking moment that rocked my family to its core…

Now I’m on a quest for revenge against my father.
That means hitting him where it hurts—the new fiancé and the son he thinks so much of.
Alister Sommers.

Alis is a bleached blond perfectionist thorn in my side who’s used to everything going his way. Grades, money, track—he dominates it all despite his short, insignificant frame.

Was one dad not good enough that Alis had to take mine too?

Soon, we’ll be stepbrothers.
Until then, I vow to make his life a living hell.
Maybe Dad will regret his terrible mistakes.
Maybe he won’t.
I know I won’t regret wrecking their lives like they did mine.

I’ll give up everything, even my girlfriend and football, if it means I get a chance for retribution.

It’s reckless and risky, but I don’t have much to lose.

Fall in love with the charming small-town gay romances of Brigs Ferry Bay…***” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Callan and Atlas are the main characters of this story. Callan is very very moody. When really he is a very broken boy, if you ever read the previous Brigs Ferry Bay books then you will know why. I loved how expressive Callan was, that he literally wears his mood on his sleeve. What I found fascinating is that no one in Callan’s life has gone about fixing him in the right way. Until Atlas. Poor Atlas is still sorta closeted, cause he has not come out to the important people in his life. Atlas is a war vet, now on the Brigs Ferry Bay police force. He is not really as broken as Callan, but Atlas sure has some deep-seated trauma associated with being run out of town because of his sexuality. Setting: Callan’s Atlas is set in Brigs Ferry Bay a small fictionalized Maine town. You will be familiar with it if you read either Sheriff’s Secret or Kian’s Focus. The characters from those novels make appearances especially Jax and Dante as Callan’s brother-in-law and brother respectively. I loved having awesome side characters around and it just makes me so excited for future stories. I do know the next title in the series is Fernando’s story and I am so excited to eventually be getting Zak’s story. Pacing: This story was paced quite well. There is a really big payoff, a reveal of sorts so I highly recommend reading the other Brigs Ferry Bay novels first. Romance: This romance really blossoms because Atlas is the first person to not handle Callan with kids’ gloves. Atlas really becomes the knight in shining armour for Callan. His quest is to rid the town of homophobes. This is a very intense love story. The scenes between these boys are not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for some of K. “From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes a steamy and emotional age-gap MM romance!

When we moved from New York to Maine, life was supposed to get easier, not harder.
Change, for me, was difficult.
I became the target of terrible crimes that resulted in sending a once-beloved man of the community to prison for a very long time.

Now that I’m eighteen, I could move back to the Big Apple, but fear has me rooted in place.
I hate what that monster did to me.
Looks like I’m stuck here for good.
Brigs Ferry Bay’s unhappiest gay.

Each day, the darkness closes in around me more and more.
Black clothes. Black mood. Black thoughts. Black eyeliner.
The color in my life bled from me months ago and never came back.

Until him.
Atlas Larson.
Newest cop on the BFB police force.
Too hot. Too strong. Too old for me. Too…everything.

Atlas is a rebellious, bossy, mouthy brute who likes to provoke me.
Every encounter starts with heat and ends with an argument.
Color begins sneaking back into my world little by little.
He reminds me of who I once was and shows me who I’m meant to be.

I crave to leave this town once and for all.
But now that I’ve found the courage to do it, the arrogant jerk with a badge might find a way to keep me here and in his arms forever.
