For over a year I have been getting sneak peeks at these stories through the Queens of Darkness and Sin Facebook group. If you are a fan of any of these lovely ladies or steamy sexy stories in general, you gotta join the group. I was super excited to see these ladies compile the stories they have co-written together in an package tied up in a nice little bow. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “From 16 bestselling authors comes seven never-before-released dark and forbidden co-written short stories with HEAs and sneak peeks of upcoming releases. Tales of Darkness & Sin is only available for a limited time so pre-order your copy now! Bestselling authors include: Aleatha Romig, A Zavarelli, Ashley Jade, Cora Reilly, Giana Darling, Isabella Starling, Jade West, K Webster, Lucia Franco, Lylah James, Natasha Knight, Parker S Huntington, Pepper Winters, Sam Mariano, Sierra Simone and Skye Warren. All royalties from this anthology will benefit the National Women’s Law Center which represents a variety of issues from women’s rights to LGBTQIA issues. We aren’t affiliated or endorsed by these charities. We are simply authors who want to support an important cause.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Aleatha Romig and Skye Warren’s Sold to the Highest Bidder – 3 stars: I was slightly disappointed by this story. The title got me really excited for an auction. And yes there was one and I loved the dynamic of brother versus brother. But there were not enough steamy scenes. A. Jade and A. Zavarelli’s Stalker – 4 stars: This one had a fun premise of the stalker being the quiet boy from her high school that always liked her. This one had some sexy scenes and a super fun twist. Parker S. Huntington and Giana Darling’s Poisoned Hearts – 4.5 stars: I absolutely adore Giana’s mafia stories and this felt a lot like the world of the Lombardis. This one I would have engulfed as a full-length novel. The perfect levels of sexual tension and such a fast-paced plot. Loved it! Lylah James and Cora Reilly’s Dirty Bargain – 4 stars. Continuing with the Italian mafia and including the Russian Bratva. This one was intense, but that is what you get when the man is called Killer. Another steamy tale, full of dirty talk and another untouched virgin. Who doesn’t love trading your virginity for a hitman to kill someone for you? K. Webster and Sam Mariano’s Mr. Foster – 4 stars. Time for an office romance, and who doesn’t love it when the employee falls for the boss. To make it even more forbidden the boss is her father’s best friend. This one is quite a classic tale with a huge age gap so if you are into that this one will for sure be right up your alley. Giana Darling and Sierra Simone’s Not a Dirty Little Secret – 4.5 stars. A little M/M romance with the British Prime Minister! I absolutely adored this story as I am a sucker for a good M/M romance. This story is the only one where I have read pretty much the entire backlist of the two authors writing it so suffice to say I love Giana and Sierra to death. There was a little added taboo element to this book that was thrown in partway through so I loved the pacing of this. The guys had such chemistry and a wonderful connection. This may be my fave of the anthology. Jade West and Lucia Franco’s Her Christmas Present – 4.5 stars. And now for a little Christmas story. This one was a classic daddy-esque age gap tale between a high school senior and her teacher. The Christmas twist of him playing Santa and her sitting on his lap was such a fun way to start off a story really about an older man showing this younger girl pleasure for the first time. The final three pieces were previews for full-length stories: Pepper Winters’ Forbidden Flaws, Natasha Knight’s With This Ring, and Isabella Starling’s Tyrant Stalker – all 4 stars. I definitely plan to look more into these as I found myself getting hooked into these previews. All of these really engaged me and made me want to know what was happening next. It was an interesting choice to include these at the end, don’t really think it was that necessary and instead it made the book really really long. They felt out of place not being co-written shorts. That being said still enjoyable reads. Tales of Darkness and Sin receives four of out five stars. This is the first conclusion to the trilogies that make up the Dangerous Press world! What an anticipated ending for these two. After two books Lucien and Elaine are left with a choice to either defy their family feud to embrace being together or to throw away the best chance both of them have ever had at love. I am a member of Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “I’m an heiress with a broken past. Lucian Morelli is a billionaire who doesn’t know how to feel anything.Except when he’s with me. Love between a Morelli and a Constantine will never survive. The war between both families turns into an inferno, consuming the entire city of Bishop’s Landing. The world is soaked in blood. No one is left standing, not even the couple who vowed their final breaths. I would sacrifice everything for the man I love, and I just may have to. RELENTLESS is the explosive finale of Jade West’s Starcrossed Lovers trilogy set in the world of Midnight Dynasty.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: The star crossed lovers series features Elaine Constantine and Lucian Morelli. Elaine has gone through so much development over the course of this series. When Lucian and her meet she is crumbling under family pressures and has a serious alcohol and cocaine addiction. She has grown so much more open, trusting, and made amazing strives in her recovery journey in this third story. Lucian is a total softy when it comes to Elaine, the way he loves has such an intensity to it. He loves her with fervour, that he would kill for her. Setting: We are getting out of the Bishop’s Landing/New York City area, and I really do not want to spoil to you where we are heading to, to forge a new life. Pacing: This story is paced very well, there is action at almost every point both in and out of the bedroom. The plot has the epic romance scenes and the gruesome murder scenes that this series is known for. Romance: Elaine and Lucian are the first to be saying screw this to the Capulet and Montague style feud the Constantines and the Morellis have. Elaine acknowledges that it is weird that she is madly in love with a man she once saw as a mortal enemy. They are the Romeo and Juliet of the Midnight Dynasty world. Lucian truly fears that their families will be out for blood if they get word of their relationship. They obviously don’t want to spend their lives on the run, so they make the conscious choice not to. There is such an ease in which they are together and express their love for each other. Lucian put it best when he told Elaine he wanted to be inside her mind, body, and soul. Relentless receives four out of five stars. Soulless is out on December 8th! If any of you have read Heartless, then you will understand the anticipation that abounded for the sequel! It was so satisfying after all the build-up in the first book to see these two finally truly fall in love. I am a member of the Dangerous Press’ Review Team, this does not affect the honesty and integrity of my review. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… “Lucian Morelli always takes what he wants. And now he’s taken me. The man who’s haunted my steps from the moment we met at the ball now controls my every move in his hideaway. His dark eyes miss nothing, and he seeks out all my weak spots. He uses his fingers, his wicked tongue, his sharp mind. Searching, testing, looking for the side of me I’ve hidden away for so long. He’s relentless in his pursuit of my secrets, but I manage to discover some of his own. I’m not the only one hiding, not the only one marred by my past. And when he sees me, truly sees me, for the first time in as long as I can remember—I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid of this monster, my monster. I want him to hurt me, to break me, to put me back together, and above all, I want him to love me. A love as fiery as it is destructive, one that will scorch our families and maybe, just maybe, set us both free.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… This is a sequel so I do not want to tell you too much to keep the spoilers to a minimum so my review may seem short and sweet. But really you need to pick up Heartless if you haven’t and if you have already read it then you do not need me to convince you to read Soulless. Characters: Elaine and Lucian are the main characters of the Starcrossed Lovers series. This sequel actually had a lot of character development for both of them. Their individual development was quite tied to them figuring out their feelings for each other and giving in to trusting each other. Elaine especially when she opened up about her past to Lucian, so important to her development. Pacing: I read this sequel extremely fast, like in one sitting. I was so excited about it so I just engulfed it. Setting: The story had been set in New York, but it starts with Lucian whisking Elaine away from the city. It is a greater metaphor almost that Lucian was letting Elaine into his inner sanctum. Romance: This is the book Elaine and Lucian really decide to say f*ck it to their families. They really have some meaningful talks and their lustful relationship begins to be a romantic one. I cannot wait for what the third book may hold, I am hoping they storm the town and their families will have to come to terms with these star-crossed lovers. Soulless receives four out of five stars. We are insanely close to the release of Soulless and in anticipation, I am bringing to you (with the help of Dangerous Press) my review of book one, Heartless. A classic rival mafia family story, this high stakes love story of a Morelli and a Constantine is sexy and sinfully delicious. I am a member of the Dangerous Press’ Review Team, this does not affect the honesty and integrity of my review. Check out the Goodreads synopsis… In a single moment, she becomes my obsession… Elaine Constantine will be mine. And her destruction is only my beginning. That’s my plan until I see her, the woman in gold with the sinful curves and the blonde curls. My will to dominate her runs as deep as the hate I have for her last name. No matter how beautifully she bends beneath my hands, I’ll leave her shattered, a broken toy for her cruel family. I’m a sadist, and she’s the object of my obsession.” Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Elaine Constantine and Lucien Morelli are the main characters of this Romeo and Juliet-esque love story. I initially wrote off Elaine as somewhat one-dimensional, but as the story progressed it became apparent she was more complicated than she seemed. Struggling with a cocaine addiction, she is crumbling under the pressure of being a Constantine. Lucien Morelli is cunning, sly, and devious. The owner of a sex club, he has never had his eye only one woman and that all changes when he sets his sights on Elaine. Pacing: A fast-paced, easily digestible, and perfect binge read. Setting: The story is set in a very dark New York City. Elaine leaves the safety of Bishop’s Landing for rough areas of the city. The story opened at the Constantine compound at a birthday party for Elanie’s sister which many of you will remember from the Dark Fairy Tales, and it had to be one of my favourite settings in the story. Romance: This story was just star-crossed lovers, enemies to lovers epicness. Elanie and Lucien had electric chemistry. When they were in the same room together it was as if all the air was sucked out of the room and it was just them. Be fair warned this romance is dark, intense, and erotic. This is not for the faint of heart, but if you let the ride take you I promise it will be wild. Heartless receives four out of five stars.
