This book is intended for readers eighteen years old and over. It contains material that some readers could find disturbing. Enter at your own risk…

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: I am very happy with the ending of Sophia and Damon’s story. I had been unhappy with Damon’s slippage in character development in the last instalment and it did kind of feel like we were rehashing the same development from the first instalment. Sophia making him work for it was great though! It was lovely to see so much of the extended Morelli gang, Lucian really gets lots of moments to shine in this book. I truly hope it is not the last one because I love this family, plus Lizzie needs her story next!
  • Setting: This story is predominately set in New York City, but I was so happy for a quick little whisk away to Bishop’s Landing the pinnacle of Dangerous Press settings.
  • Pacing: I was hooked on this final book super quickly and I was enthralled until the end. There is an event near the end (which of course I will not spoil) that had me on the edge of my seat while reading. A feeling I was not expecting from this conclusion.
  • Romance: I was still rooting for Sophia and Damon by the end. I want to note that there was a bit of a trope that does not hit for me, but you might be a huge fan so use this as a red flag or green flag. I could have done without the bit of breeding kink that reared its ugly head near the beginning of this, but gratefully it was not overkill throughout the entire story. The steamy scenes were fun, but I felt like the sub and dom dynamic was much better explored in past instalments.

Own receives 3.5 out of 5 stars.

  • Characters: I do really like both Sophia Morelli and Damon Pierce. I admire Sophia’s defiance and independence streak. I found that her character development was really great throughout the story but as we neared the end I became increasingly unhappy with this instalment. I especially did not like where Damon’s story ended. He pushed Sophia and fought for what they had the entire book, to have all of that thrown away.
  • Setting: This book predominately takes place in New York City. Damon’s apartment plays a key role in this instalment. The story went downhill from me once we left the safety of Damon’s den.
  • Pacing: This book suffered a bit from the second book slump effect, and as much as I enjoyed parts of this story it did really feel like this story was stretched out. Did this really need to be a trilogy, I do not think it did rather a duology.
  • Romance: This book did have some decent steamy scenes though. I just found myself less invested in the couple this time around, than I did when they were first falling for each other. I was more invested in the unfolding mystery plot than the romance, which is never ever the case for me.

Defy receives three out of five stars.

The Dangerous Press world was missing this story! I loved this and cannot wait to see where it goes next. Sophia Morelli is a determined brat in need of a bit of taming from Damon Pierce, but to him, she is a temptation he cannot afford.

I am a Dangerous Press review team member, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews.

Damon Pierce has a dangerous reputation at Violent Delights.
As for the submissive women he plays with? They get one night only.
Any more would put them at risk.

He has no interest in emotional entanglements.
Especially not with Sophia Morelli.
She’s too brazen. Too beautiful.
And the sister of one of his closest friends.

Still, he finds himself drawn to her beckoning sensuality, her mouthy attitude, and the compelling innocence he discovers under her bold facade. Despite how much he may wish for it, nothing can change the past…or the very real danger he poses to her right now.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Sophia Morelli, oh how long I have waited for her story and I loved her character. She is the youngest Morelli we have had yet and is yet another contender for the black sheep of the family award. Sophia is a model and while she may come across as icy to an outsider; she has a heart of gold. Her perfect match is Damon Pierce, a stoic billionaire who seems to have it all together on the outside. While on the inside he is suffering and in need of a little brat in his life. We also get some great scenes with different Morelli siblings, as Sophia might feel like an outsider in her family but she has such special bonds with Lucian, Eva, and Lizzy.
  • Setting: This story is set in New York City, with the hustle and bustle of the world of billionaires and models. But by far my favourite setting was the Violent Delights club! This was introduced in an earlier book as one of Lucian Morelli’s business ventures, but now it is on full display. Each scene there was just so incredibly hot.
  • Pacing: This story was paced extremely well. It had an explosive opening with our lead characters meeting at the sex club and feeling that gravitational pull towards each other. The rest of the story moved at a good pace, and I am especially keen to keep reading. After that ending, I imagine most readers will be.
  • Romance: I love that we are finally getting a truly dominant and submissive pair in the Dangerous Press world. Sophia’s reluctance to fully submit to Perice, to give in to what she truly needs dominates her story arc. She cannot help but want to be self-sufficient so it was wonderful to see her letting go and open up to leaning on Pierce for help. Damon carries heavy burdens, self-doubt and grief. So, watching him open his heart to Sophia and then turning on that possessive streak, was just so damn hot. This book is riddled with great sexual tension and numerous kinky scenes both in and out of the sex club. As this first instalment came to a close it set up a relationship I need a HEA for, and I cannot wait to watch these characters fight for it.

Claim receives five out of five stars.

I overall really enjoyed both this final book and this entire trilogy. If anyone is in the mood for a Why Choose or a retelling I would definitely recommend this as a fun binge-read.

Once upon a time I had everything. Four perfect husbands, a gorgeous home, a shining future. I was the princess of Velvet House. The beloved jewel of the men I love.

My heart understood this perfect snapshot could not last. My evil stepmother conspires with my twisted ex-fiancé, watching for me in the darkness.

They won’t rest until my life is ashes.

My men vow to protect me, but when the nightmare falls, they are put in chains. I stand alone and alone I must seek vengeance for my lovers…

To become the queen I was born to be.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: I love where January’s character development got to as she has undergone some staggering changes. I loved how she embraced a newfound independence and confidence. The men in her life just elevate her noble qualities and help to bring out what was in her all along. Things that her family had stifled in her, now get to shine. The best part was how she was not a pushover for the boys, that she fought for the future she wanted not just for herself, but how a future would look for all of them. With all this work put into the development of January’s character, I felt that the boys were a bit neglected. Bobby and Adriano saw virtually no development, while a little attention was paid to Elliot and Doc specifically working through the trust that comes with falling in love. I would have liked a bit more but I understand the limitation with the length and how many love interests there are. The little we know about the side characters is very interesting and I am excited to hopefully read a future book about January’s sister Margo, and/or the tale of the twin bodyguards, Archie and Bill.
  • Setting: Our story starts at Velvet House, which has transitioned from the much more icy unloving place that it was in the first instalment, to a home for January, her men, and their future family. I do not want to go into too much detail about where else you get to go as it does spoil the plot of the books. But know that the plot takes them away from Velvet House, but the little sojourner brings fodder for romantic scenes.
  • Pacing: This book was paced very well, some readers may find these on the shorter side but I do not mind the fast pace of this story, which the entire series moved at. I want to laud heavy praise on how this book started, it is an explosive scene and just epic. It was a true amalgamation of January’s character development and just how hot this series was.
  • Romance: On the topic of hot, yes of course this book is riddled with scorching hot sex scenes with different match-ups of January with Doc, Bobby, Elliott, and/or Adriano. I was grateful to see no regression in where the relationship was left at the end of the second instalment. Rather much of the conflict that threatens their relationship is external rather than internal. The plot sure threw our characters through a loop and really tested the boys’ romantic devotion to January and their brotherly bond with one another. There was still room in all of that for the emotional development of this relationship, specifically some of the boys’ struggle to say I love you and how it symbolized their greater struggle to trust in the special thing they had. The new elements introduced in the romance storyline are predictable (maybe even a bit cliche) but it is still a satisfactory conclusion to an entertaining series.

Lace Vengeance receives four out of five stars.

A hurricane has come to Bishop’s Landing…

Carter Morelli has been all over the world. Secret missions. Gunfights. The eye of a tropical hurricane. Nothing scares him more than home, where he looks into a mirror every time he sees his father.

But when the two people he loves most are in danger, there’s only one place that’s safe for them. New York City.

He won’t be able to avoid the place where he grew up. The place where demons from his past haunt him. The place where June and Theo can finally see the truth about him.

TROPICAL STORM is book three in the Deserted Island trilogy. Find out what happens in the breathtaking conclusion of Carter Morelli’s scorching hot story!

Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty… The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors.

WARNING: This book is intended for readers eighteen years old and over. It contains material that some readers could find disturbing. Enter at your own risk…

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: This story continues the challenge of handling the three points of view. I would say though Carter’s story really dominates this final instalment. He is really grappling with not only the implications of wanting to build a life with two people instead of one. But his identity has been ripped away from him rather violently. Readers will sympathize with the idea of identifying so much with your career that you don’t really have an individual identity. Theo’s point of view gets the second heaviest treatment. He has really come into his own, despite being ripped away from his home he is doing relatively okay. I loved how he, along with June pushed Carter to not run away from his emotions. The character-related disappointment I had through this is June was quite passive for the majority of this third book. Nearing the end she spoke up, and spoke up loud! Finally! I have been frustrated with how her voice feels a bit lost in this but there are so many great moments with her, you just have to wait awhile. A special part of this final book is that the wider world crash lands into it through a huge cast of Morelli and Constantine side characters. Fans of the wider books will love seeing Carter’s dynamic with Leo, Lucian, and Tiernan.
  • Setting: This is the first Deserted Island book set not on a deserted island. We are whisked off to locations you will know well if you have read other Dangerous Press books. We are in Bishop’s Landing, specifically Leo’s mansion. Which I have a soft spot for because I am brought back to
  • Pacing: What will propel you through this story is the sense of fear and frustration. A feeling of fear permeates this story, no place ever feels safe. This stressful feeling never left me. I needed to keep reading to make sure all these characters are okay. The frustrations come from Carter, Theo, and June (but mostly Carter) navigating how they can build a life together.
  • Romance: This final instalment is the culmination of the physical and emotional elements of this triad. For the physical side first, simply the sex in this book is great. Our characters really connected which made for some beautiful scenes. Which is a testament to the emotional maturity that has grown in this relationship. This book is really just them trying to figure out how they can all be together. Carter fears he puts them in danger and it is Theo and June that save Carter in a way that he has never been saved before.

Tropical Storm receives four out of five stars.

There’s a ticking time bomb in Finn Hughes’s head.

That means he has to prepare everyone. Eva. The baby. The company, which is in an uproar after the announcement. He needs to get them ready. Because when the curse hits, it will be too late to say goodbye.

  • Characters: We return to Eva’s story in the middle of a Morelli war room. This final instalment has really let the readers connect with Eva’s softer side. Almost all the Morellis have such a hard exterior, but this plot is shaking Eva’s foundation. It was hard not to feel emotional when you are attached to a couple dealing with pregnancy and dementia. Finn pulled on my heartstrings even more than Eva did. His paranoia gets to you. An incurable disease is no joke.
  • Setting: The story remains set in the New York City and Bishop’s Landing area.
  • Pacing: The pacing was good and I really enjoyed many of the key scenes of the story. I had the aggravating moment of my Kindle dying in the morning during my commute and having to wait until the evening to charge it and dive back into an addicting story.
  • Romance: Finn and Eva are really coming together as a team against whatever the world throws at them and the world is sure throwing a lot. The heat is still a huge presence, but this final instalment was much more emotionally heavy. This couple is strong and this book is more of a celebration of their love. There is no dramatic third-act break-up, instead, this is a mature look at two characters in love dealing with life’s curveballs.

Three to Get Ready receives four out of five stars.

Thank you to Amelia Wilde and the team at Dangerous Press for the advance reader copy of Coercion, the third and final instalment in the Controlling Interest series.

I am super excited about the finale of Will and Bristol’s story! Fans of the wider Dangerous Press world will especially love this final instalment, which really brings us cameos from many characters that we love. While remaining a satisfactory conclusion for Will and Bristol’s story.

I am a Dangerous Press review team member, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews.

There’s a fight to the death… and a fight for his heart.

COERCION is book three in the Controlling Interest trilogy. Find out what happens in the explosive conclusion of Will Leblanc’s emotional story.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Will and Bristol are now really a team against the world, and the world is sure throwing everything at them. Amelia built such a great journey for Bristol, I have loved seeing her confidence grow. This instalment really made Bristol have to stand up for not just what she needed but what she wanted. To fight to be by Will’s side and to have the peace in her life she most certainly deserves. Now the emotional journey of this instalment is Will’s development. I should have known Amelia would deliver some stunningly emotional trauma that our male character would have to finally face head-on, so he could open his heart fully. This is what Amelia did with Emerson, and naturally his brother Will is not spared from childhood trauma, it just manifested differently. My favourite character moments were all the time we get to spend with Emerson, Daphne, and Sinclair (whose story is coming next and I could not be more excited to see him and his love interest!) We really got much more of the Leblanc brothers dynamic, as they have worked on their trauma individually and together readers will enjoy seeing them be there for each other. It was also lovely to see a different family dynamic that is not a branch of the Constantines or Morellis.
  • Setting: Those who adored Emerson’s beach house in The Collector series, will be over the moon with all the time we spend in beach houses and on the beach. This book had so many cozy settings juxtaposed with the suspense, stress, and tension of many of the plot beats from the twins’ kidnapping to Bristol’s father’s injuries.
  • Pacing: This book will fly by as you pick up mid-action and then the plot never stops. It is not non-stop crazy action after the kidnapping is resolved quite early on. This last book is very much an exploration of the quiet moments that move a couple from casual to committed. Fans of this series will devour this book and be sad to have to leave Will and Bristol behind.
  • Romance: I love this relationship and how conflicts were navigated in this instalment. This couple had quite a journey to I love you, but Will and Bristol are both actions over words types of people. Their romantic scenes were perfect as there was an incredible intensity and desire. Despite the harshness of some of the BDSM-lite behaviours, there is a softness to their dynamic that will melt readers’ hearts. The most important relationship building not just in this book, but the entire trilogy has been Will with the twins. I loved to see him move from lusting over Bristol to caring deeply for her young siblings and building the three of them not just a home but a family.

Coercion receives four out of five stars.

Omg after the ending of the first book, Force of Nature, I needed the second book yesterday! The premise for this series is intriguing but it is just not fully satisfying me yet.

I am a Dangerous Press review team member, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews.

Carter Morelli had a plan when he left London: deliver the wildlife photographer and then complete his secret mission. Except a lethal enemy has watched their every move. They tampered with the plane, leaving them stranded on a deserted island.

And they kidnapped June Porter, the innocent photographer.

In order to save her, Carter must confront the mysterious man in the jungle.

Who is he? Savior or betrayer?

He has no choice but to face the greatest enemy of all: the powerful feelings that draw him toward both June and the man in the jungle. Those feelings might kill them all.

  • Characters: We got points of view from Carter, June, and Theo in this instalment. We are finally getting more of Theo’s backstory, damn he had a messed up childhood. You begin to understand why he latches onto the island and why he struggles to trust June and especially Carter. Speaking of Carter, this sequel really grew his character. He is opening up, and being more honest. It is nice to see how different he is from the other Morellis, and that this book embraces being so different from other Dangerous Press books. I really found that June’s voice gets a bit lost in this instalment. There was lots of room given to Theo’s and Carter’s development, which took away much of the air in the room, leaving basically none for June.
  • Setting: This series is set on a deserted island, and this instalment takes us off this island to nearby land. I am excited to see where this book takes us in the future though as I was not as excited by this smaller populated area.
  • Pacing: This book is incredibly fast-paced with our characters on the run. It ran by and I found it a bit short. Due to the pacing, the character interactions also felt a bit rushed. I buy into their lust for each other, but not as much as their love just yet. I am really hopeful the third book makes me change my mind.
  • Romance: This book pushed the envelope even more in romantic scenes. Damn, there were some hot scenes in this book. I am enjoying that this story challenges the characters as they are forced to reckon with the enormity of their lust for each other. Especially for a character like Theo, it is quite a jump to see him decry these acts as sinful, but he too cannot help but fall victim to the behaviour himself. This book was better than the first instalment, I felt overall more invested in the characters than I had while reading the first book. It has a very promising ending and I am eager to see the trajectory of this throuple’s relationship in Tropical Storm, releasing in February.

Natural Disaster receives three out of five stars.

I am super intrigued by the next instalment in Will and Bristol’s love story, I loved how it began and the tropes Amelia chose to play with. I cannot wait to see what comes next. I am a Dangerous Press review team member, but I remain honest and genuine in my reviews. Will Leblanc takes risks in his private equity firm and in the underground boxing ring, but nowhere else. Definitely not in love. Which is why he had to walk away. Except Bristol Anderson needs his help. More than that, he wants to protect her. But no one can protect her from him. He has a dark side. A violent side. She’s an unbearable temptation. He’s barely holding back. What happens when the monster inside him gets loose? Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty… The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors. Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: I am so excited to be back with Bristol and Will. Similarly to other Dangerous Press releases, my favourite character development rests with the hero. Will’s icy exterior is starting to melt away. This is coupled with Bristol growing more confident. This second installment opens up with her as an assistant to someone besides Will, and that guy is creepy to her. Now that Bristol is a bit more sure of herself and does not want to put up with behaviour she doesn’t deserve she calls this guy out as a creep. By far my favourite character work in this was incorporating more of Will’s family. It was refreshing to see characters like Emerson and Daphne through other eyes. Setting: This story is primarily set in New York City, mainly in the headquarters of Hughes Financial. For those who have read Skye Warren’s Two for the Show, it was cool to be in a setting, and even see scenes familiar to us from a different perspective. The best setting comes at the end when all of our characters get out of town for a bit, but I won’t spoil that for you. Pacing: I read this story quite quickly. This series overall feels fast-paced, this second instalment did feel a bit slower that its explosive first book. As much as I loved a lot of the character development happening in the middle of this story, it dragged down the plot and pacing a bit. Romance: Aww these two are cute and I am rooting for them so much. You may be worried that because Bristol is no longer working for Will that this instalment won’t have steamy scenes in a not-so-appropriate workplace setting. But don’t worry these two still be working in the same building and struggle to keep their hands to themselves. These scenes were hot don’t get me wrong, but I find that I am particularly invested in this couple emotionally. I am so excited to see how these two navigate everything that this second instalment has set up to be thrown at them in their last chapter. Extortion receives four out of five stars.
