I cannot remember which Facebook group it was but in one of the groups I am apart of I saw someone discuss their love of Fiona Cole’s Voyeur. I decided quite spontaneously to pick it up and by the next week not only had I devoured Voyeur, but I had also subsequently picked up: Deny Me, Imagine Me, and Shame.  I sincerely hope you consider picking up some of Fiona’s books after reading my breakdowns and thoughts surrounding them. She has so few reviews on Goodreads but has written some phenomenal stories. I am going to discuss the books in the order I read them… Vouyer Goodreads synopsis: “I didn’t know she was my student the first time I paid to watch her at Voyeur. Once she walked into my classroom, another smiling college freshman, I knew I should stop going. Stop watching.  But I couldn’t do it. Everything about her makes me want more, and once I realize she wants me too, the temptation becomes irresistible.  The worst part is that she has no idea her professor is the one watching behind the glass.  I just have to hope that once she finds out the truth, she wants the same thing I do. Because now that I’ve seen all of her, I can’t look away.” Voyeur was an enthraling read that hooked me into Fiona Cole’s works instantly. Warning this one is not for the faint of heart, it covers so many taboo topics I would not even be able to name them all. How quickly I was connected and emotionally invested in the characters astounded me, and you will soon see that this is a pattern with Fiona’s books. If you are a seasoned NA reader be prepared to fall in love with this one. Are you interested? Pick it up here (*affiliate link*): https://amzn.to/2RXbOmb Deny Me Goodreads Synopsis: “Jameson King. My best friend’s brother and the person who could make an Olympic sport of ignoring my relentless teasing and taunting. I was a live-in-the-moment girl flirting with a man who always looked to the future. He was traditional, carrying the weight of his whole family on his broad shoulders, and I had been taught to never fall in love, focusing on my career instead of a future with anyone. He tried to deny me, tried to deny the passion simmering between us, bubbling under the surface of every game we played. But all that changed during one week in Jamaica.  Falling into bed with Jameson was easy, but falling in love was out of the question.” Deny Me tells the story of two people who have resisted getting together for years. Watching the two characters fall in love, and go through their ups and downs was so fulfilling. If you are in the mood for a quick standalone read this is a must read. Are you interested? Pick it up here (*affiliate link*): https://amzn.to/2DIezol Shame Goodreads Synopsis: “The girl next door. Pretty. Sweet. Kind.  Submissive.  Until I met her, I was alone with the dark desires that I didn’t understand, that I couldn’t reconcile.  She became my best friend, and then she became so much more.  Desire. Disgust. Shame.  Dominance.  I wouldn’t have survived until college without her. When we were together, I was at peace for the first time in my life.  But it was too good to last.  Our appetite for pain and pleasure destroyed us. And all the drinks in the world weren’t enough to get used to missing her.  On the verge of earning my degree, Ana walks back into my life, those gray-blue eyes still able to see right through me. It’s the chance I’ve been waiting for. One last chance to overcome my shame.  If only it were that easy.” Shame has been sitting with me ever since I read it. It is my newest addition to my NA required reading list (a post that will be coming soon) as it warps perceptions and really allows you to understand controversial issues. As the characters’ story begins with them in high school and follows them into adulthood not only is there amazing character development, there is an evolution in how both you and the characters understand. If you are a more mature reader, please consider picking this up. Are you interested? Pick it up here (*affiliate link*): https://amzn.to/2TghLMq Imagine Me Goodreads Synopsis: “Shane’s her brother’s best friend and thirteen years older than her. Juliana knows his desire to be the loner and to never settle down. But none of that stops her from showing up at his hotel room late one night. Months later, she imagines every scenario for when she runs into Shane again. However, she never imagined him brushing off their scorching night together. She never imagined him calling her a ‘little girl’ who can’t handle a man. His words ignite a fire in Juliana. If she has to date every single guy in Cincinnati, she’ll prove that she is more than capable of “handling” a man. Except Juliana and Shane can’t stay away from each other, so they set up some rules; only sex, and no telling her brother. It doesn’t take long for the sex to turn into feelings, and Juliana can feel his icy exterior melting. Is he willing to risk his best friend for a chance at love? For Juliana, that might be too good to imagine.” Imagine Me features characters previously introduced in Deny Me, so I recommend reading both of them and reading Deny Me first. Another book with great characters, another book where I saw myself becoming so incredibly invested very quickly in Juliana’s life and happiness. Are you interested? Pick it up here (*affiliate link*): https://amzn.to/2qP2jK1 The Lovers Goodreads Synopsis: “I loved him first.  Jake was my best friend in college-my very straight best friend, until one night he was more. He may have ran after what happened between us, but I never forgot him.  When fate puts us in the same place, five years later, he has a fiance by his side. Carina is beautiful, driven, and draws my attention almost as much as he still does.  A game of truth or dare leads to a wild night and a relationship that has our feelings growing into something bigger than any of us intended.  But what happens when our feelings deepen? Can I handle being with two people?  If it means I can have him, I’ll love them both.” The Lovers is Fiona’s latest release and features characters from Voyeur. I have read many books within the trope that The Lovers is set, but I found it to be very unique. Its uniqueness is a spoiler so I will not tell you why it is unique, but I would encourage a seasoned NA reader to pick this one up if the desire a bit of a surprise. Are you interested? Pick it up here (*affiliate link*): https://amzn.to/2BaGtGX I cannot stress any further how much I love the stories I have featured above by Fiona Cole. Why then do I enjoy the trope?! Hockey Romance is the best way to convey a story on the premise that the guy has a reputation and the girl judges him for it. But as they fall in love as she realizes that he is more than just the rumours, that she never really understood who he truly was at the beginning of the story. This premise is such a beautiful way to read about two people falling in love. I have yet to pick up a Hockey Romance that I have not enjoyed. For this next installment, I am focusing on the sister duo, Krista and Becca Ritchie. Well, I won’t be focusing on them, a special guest will be.   Hello, my name is Pietro Maximoff (or Quicksilver) and I have been informed by the Fizzle Force (the fans of these Authors) that I play a significant part in the author’s works. The main character’s of Krista and Becca Ritchie’s most popular series are huge Marvel, specifically X-Men fans, to the point that they named their eldest son after me. Krista and Becca are prolific writers (according to Christina) having published 15 novels independently and for their first time this year, a teen novel traditionally published by Wednesday Books. Below I will debrief their multiple series, that if you ask any member of the Fizzle Force, are all essential reads.   The Addicted Series The Addicted Series tells the stories of the three Calloway sisters, the daughters of one of America’s most successful businessmen, as they struggle and thrive through school, fame, addiction, relationships, and family relations. Addicted to You, Ricochet, Addicted for Now, Thrive, and Addicted After All follow Lily Calloway, the middle daughter and the main protagonist of the entire series. Lily’s arc deals with her sex addiction and her friend to lover to boyfriend relationship with her best friend, Loren Hale, who suffers from alcoholism. Kiss the Sky and Fuel the Fire’s protagonist is Rose Calloway, the eldest of the sisters as she reluctantly falls in love with Conor Cobalt, as he struggles to admit he has fallen for her too. Hothouse Flower and Long Way Down are Daisy Calloway and Ryke Meadows’ story. Daisy is the youngest and she deals with many trials and tribulations but is able to conquer them with Ryke by her side. Christina wants me to stress that she views these books as essential reads, that she has learned so much from Lily, Lo, Rose, Connor, Daisy and Ryke. She believes these lessons are important to all readers and is begging you to pick up the first book, Addicted to You.  If you want to pick up this series her recommended reading order is: Addicted to You (Lily and Loren) Ricochet (Lily and Loren) Addicted for Now (Lily and Loren) Kiss the Sky (Rose and Connor) Hothouse Flower (Daisy and Ryke) Thrive (Lily and Loren) Addicted After All (Lily and Loren) Fuel the Fire (Rose and Connor) Long Way Down (Daisy and Ryke) and Some Kind of Perfect (an extended epilogue novel, from multiple points of view)     Next up is the series that I believe is the best, but I am biased cause the main character’s first name is my last name. The Like Us Series The Like Us series tells the story of the children of the Calloway Girls and their significant others, so far the books have been from the point of view of Maximoff Hale (Lily and Loren’s eldest son) and his bodyguard and love interest, Farrow Keene. This series focuses on fame, family, and relationships. All three branches of the family and their bodyguards fill the cast of supporting characters. The series is not completed yet, but three books are out right now, and according to Christina, they are some of Krista and Becca’s best work. You could easily read these apart from the previous series if the ten books that precede it is daunting but be fair warned The Like Us Series is growing every year, and the order is… Damaged Like Us (Maximoff and Farrow) Lovers Like Us (Maximoff and Farrow) Alphas Like Us (MaXimoff and Farrow) Tangled Like Us (Jane and Thatcher) (coming out this fall!) Untitled (#5) (Jane and Thatcher) Untitled (#6) (Maximoff and Farrow) Untitled (#7) (Oscar and Jack) Untitled (#8) (Akara and Sulli)     If you are like me and you don’t have enough time to read (cause you are being an Avenger), fear not the sisters have also written duologies! Aerial Etherial The Aerial Etherial duology are two books that can be read together, or individually. They tell the stories of two different couples and the world of a Cirque-de-Solie inspired Vegas circus act. Amour Amour (which was actually Christina’s first Ritchie sisters book) tells the story of Thora James who throws everything else she has worked for in her life away and moves to Vegas to audition for the aerial show. After not getting in, she seeks the help of Nikolai, who is one of the show’s best artists. Infini’s protgonists are Luka and Baylee. Luka is Nikolai’s brother and both he and Baylee are already in one of the circus shows. The story delves into their relationship as it existed in the past and what it will be in the future. Christina tells me that both these books are really special.   The Raging Ones The Raging Ones released this past summer and happens to be Krista and Becca Ritchie’s first traditionally published release. The book follows Fanny and it opens up on her experiencing her death day (in this world everyone knows the day they will die, and it gravely affects a person’s socio-economic status). Fanny falls asleep that night and is woken up the next day by the other protagonists, Court and Mykal. The catch is why didn’t Fanny die, and how did Court and Mykal outlive their death day too? This will be a two book series, the second and final book The Last Hope is releasing August 13th, 2019. Christina wants me to tell you that the first book was really good, and she has been recommending it to so many people recently)   I really hope you take Christina’s recommendation’s to heart and pick up these books. Again they must be good if both the characters in them and the authors are fans of me and my other X-Men. If you want to check out Krista and Becca online, we will have some links attached below… Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/7056935.Krista_Ritchie Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/fizzleforce/?source_id=158094631057473 Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/KBRitchie/ Twitter (@KBRitchie): https://twitter.com/kbritchie?lang=en Instagram (@kbmritchie): https://www.instagram.com/kbmritchie/?hl=en  Tumblr: http://kbmritchie.tumblr.com/ Website: https://kbritchie.com/index.html     I want to thank Pietro Maximoff for walking you guys through all that Krista and Becca have to offer and I want to thank you for reading this post and supporting my blog.     UPDATE: It was nice to receive a like, retweet, and reply on Twitter from Krista and Becca:

Ricochet (Lily and Loren)

Addicted for Now (Lily and Loren)

Kiss the Sky (Rose and Connor)

Hothouse Flower (Daisy and Ryke)

Thrive (Lily and Loren)

Addicted After All (Lily and Loren)

Fuel the Fire (Rose and Connor)

Long Way Down (Daisy and Ryke)

and Some Kind of Perfect (an extended epilogue novel, from multiple points of view)

Next up is the series that I believe is the best, but I am biased cause the main character’s first name is my last name.

The Like Us Series

The Like Us series tells the story of the children of the Calloway Girls and their significant others, so far the books have been from the point of view of Maximoff Hale (Lily and Loren’s eldest son) and his bodyguard and love interest, Farrow Keene. This series focuses on fame, family, and relationships. All three branches of the family and their bodyguards fill the cast of supporting characters. The series is not completed yet, but three books are out right now, and according to Christina, they are some of Krista and Becca’s best work.

You could easily read these apart from the previous series if the ten books that precede it is daunting but be fair warned The Like Us Series is growing every year, and the order is…

Damaged Like Us (Maximoff and Farrow)

Lovers Like Us (Maximoff and Farrow)

Alphas Like Us (MaXimoff and Farrow)

Tangled Like Us (Jane and Thatcher) (coming out this fall!)

Untitled (#5) (Jane and Thatcher)

Untitled (#6) (Maximoff and Farrow)

Untitled (#7) (Oscar and Jack)

Untitled (#8) (Akara and Sulli)

If you are like me and you don’t have enough time to read (cause you are being an Avenger), fear not the sisters have also written duologies!

Aerial Etherial

The Aerial Etherial duology are two books that can be read together, or individually.

The Raging Ones

The Raging Ones released this past summer and happens to be Krista and Becca Ritchie’s first traditionally published release.

Christina wants me to tell you that the first book was really good, and she has been recommending it to so many people recently)

I really hope you take Christina’s recommendation’s to heart and pick up these books. Again they must be good if both the characters in them and the authors are fans of me and my other X-Men.

My Top 5 Most Anticipated 2018 Fall Releases (and Assignment #1) https://clarynathanwill.com/lists/my-top-5-most-anticipated-2018-fall-releases/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=my-top-5-most-anticipated-2018-fall-releases https://clarynathanwill.com/lists/my-top-5-most-anticipated-2018-fall-releases/#respond Thu, 13 Sep 2018 16:00:30 +0000 http://clarynathanwill.com/?p=330 When I say that I am excited and nervous for fall book releases I am not kidding. The excitement comes from the next installments in some of my favourite series. The nerves come from two of my favourite series concluding this fall. Let’s start with excitement! Tangled Like Us releases sometime this fall (a date has not been set yet, but hopefully will soon.) Tangled Like Us is the fourth book in the Like Us Series (which is the spinoff series to the phenomenal Addicted series). The Like Us series follows the children of the characters of Krista and Becca Ritchie’s previous series. This world of their’s is one of my absolute favourites. Without a doubt Addicted to You is one of the most influential books on my life, as it made me aware in ways that I never was before. The Addicted series tackles addiction in such a careful and attentive manner, that you cannot help but leave your reading experience with a fresh understanding of the addictions written about and their effects on relationships. I am excited about Tangled with Us as it is the story of my two favourite character’s daughter and I have only read her in a supporting role in the three previous novels and I am just so excited to be inside her head. I highly recommend jumping on this series, I know it is really long (Addicted is ten books and Like Us will be eight books once it is finished) but it is so worth it. You can add it on Goodreads and catch up on the other books here: https://kbritchie.com/reading-order.html   Royally Yours (the cover reveal is this month, stay tuned for a blog reveal post) releases October 30th. The Royally series by Emma Chase is a favourite in the New Adult community. Everyone was sad when the trilogy came to a close but within the last year, Emma Chase has announced this fourth instalment and a spinoff series. The Royally series tells the stories of different members of the Wescco royal family and their romantic endeavours. There is no word yet on who this book is about, but fans are speculating the next generation of the royal family all grown up will be the ones to take center stage in the next instalment. You can add it on Goodreads and check out the previous books in the series here: https://www.goodreads.com/series/180054-royally A Nordic King releases September 21st. Karina Halle is one of my favourite authors and not just because we have the same hometown. You can check out her all of her works as i’ve detailed in a previous blog post (warning there is a lot). A Nordic King tells the story of the widowed King of Denmark and the tension between him and his children’s nanny. The story can stand alone, but I also highly suggest books that have some characters in common The Swedish Prince and The Wild Heir. I just love everything that Karina writes so I could not be more excited for her next book. You can add it on Goodreads and check out all of Karina’s books here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/4785031.Karina_Halle   Next up are some conclusions that have been years in the making.   Queen of Air and Darkness releases on December 4th. I cannot even put into words my love and hero worship for Cassandra Clare. The reader I am today is because of Cassie and her books. Every one of her endings is bittersweet but is also so exciting because she has yet to write a bad ending. If you are unaware of Cassie and the world of Shadowhunters you need to check out City of Bones right now. If you have already read the other Shadowhunters series, but have been unsure about picking up The Dark Artificies (QOaaD is the final book in the trilogy) I am here to tell you, read it! These books are more mature and really delve deeper into comparisons between racial relations and the far right in our world to the species-ist bigoted Shadowhunters of the Shadow world. You can add it on Goodreads and check out the entire Shadowhunter chronicles here: http://shadowhunters.wikia.com/wiki/The_Shadowhunters%27_Wiki:Readers%27_Guide   Kingdom of Ash releases on October 23rd. Much to my surprise Kingdom of Ash is my most anticipated book this year (usually it is Cassie’s next release). I have been invested in the Throne of Glass series for years and I truly have no idea how it is going to conclude. Part of me is hopeful that all my babies are going to be okay and that all my favourite couples are going to live happily ever after. The other part of me is terrified that some large sacrifice will be required to conclude the final battle and everyone I love will die. So I am totally calm right now, not freaking out at all. If you have not read Throne of Glass or my fave from Sarah, A Court of Thorns and Roses I highly recommend them. You can add it to Goodreads and check out the rest of the series here (I highly recommend reading it in publication order!): https://www.goodreads.com/series/51288-throne-of-glass   Thank you so much for supporting my blog and for reading about my most anticipated releases. Please leave a comment if you are also excited for any of these books, and if not are there any books you are excited for this fall? Thanks again!     UPDATE: The response to my meme and this post I could not be more grateful for: Likes from: Krista and Becca Ritchie and Publishing@SFU Retweets from: Emma Chase, Krista and Becca Ritchie, Karina Halle, and Publishing@SFU Reply From: Emma Chase: Thank you to all the wonderful authors who interacted with me and shared my blog post.
