Lauren Blakely’s P.S. It’s Always Been You ARC Review

Thank you to Lauren Blakely and the team at Candi Kane PR for the advance reader copy of P.S. I Still Love You, which is available today!

This had been previously released on audio, but Lauren has combined the three parts into one easy to read ebook for you to enjoy during your self-isolation.

Check out the Goodreads synopsis below…

A sweeping, second-chance standalone romance!

I was pretty good at living without regrets until a way too close call during a skydive. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw one face, one regret that’s been gnawing at me ever since—Presley. The woman I loved madly ten years ago. The woman I had to walk away from.

At first, all I want is to sort out why I can’t get her out of my head. But as soon as I see Presley again, I know I have to win her back at any cost. Brilliant, captivating and utterly beautiful, she’s the one I want.

Fate steps in when we’re asked to pair up to find a treasure in art and antiques. It’s an opportunity I can’t pass up—to uncover a path back to the woman I let get away while we chase down a love story a hundred years in the making.

Trouble is, Presley is tougher now, more wary, and she’s been hurt. By me. So it’s going to take a whole lot more than one hot kiss and a wild adventure together to convince her to give me a second chance.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Presley and Hunter are the main characters of this standalone story from Lauren. Presley is an archivist who struggles with her insecurities. Her struggles are based on being insecure about her love life and her career for so many years, and it was super rewarding to see the growth in her. Hunter is the classic charmer, a man who is down to earth despite all the success he has had. Presley’s best friend is Truly who you will recognize if you have read Instant Gratification.
  • Setting: New York City is the primary setting of this story. It acts as the home base as Hunter is forced to leave it while Presley stays behind in it, almost trapped in it. Over the course of the story, both characters went through different ways of seeing it as home.
  • Romance: This story has multiple layers of romance in it. There is the second-chance close to ten years later love story between Presley and Hunter. There is also the romance depicted in the letters that Presley and Hunter discover. I do not want to divulge too much on this because I honestly loved the romance in the letters more than the main one of the story. The letters were my favourite part of the book! When it comes to Presley and Hunter they lacked for me the spark that many of Lauren’s recent couples have had. Their love story was still super enjoyable, I have just enjoyed Lauren’s The Gift series a lot more as of late.

I give P.S. It’s Always Been You four out of five stars.
