Devney Perry’s Noble Prince ARC Review

Thank you to Devney Perry and the team at Valentine PR for the advance reader copy of Noble Prince. The fourth standalone book in the Tin Gypsy series, which releases on November 10th.

I absolutely love the Tin Gypsy series! Well, really I love everything that Deveny writes. I was super pumped for this installment, as she kinda laid the groundwork for this in Stone Princess. I really wanted to read about these two characters, Scarlett and Luke and more specifically to see how a romance between the two of them would flourish.

Check out the Goodreads synopsis…

“The night Luke Rosen met Scarlett Marks was the only time he’s regretted becoming chief of police. One horrific night of blood and death, and now she’s living under his roof—all because he swore an oath to serve and protect.

Scarlett is stubborn and infuriating. She has no respect for the order in his structured life, and she never does anything she’s told. Worse, she doesn’t seem to care that the information she has on a motorcycle gang means she might end up dead. But her unwavering strength, her courage and tenacity and beauty, makes it impossible for him to abandon her.

If Luke is going to keep her safe, he’ll have to make the hardest decision of his life. He can either honor his values as a cop, knowing Scarlett is unlikely to survive . . . or he can break all the rules and protect the woman who’s invaded his home and his heart.”

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…

  • Characters: Scarlett and Luke are the main characters of this instalment in the Tin Gypsy series. Both of them had been introduced in the previous story and from that moment they were introduced I wanted to know more about them. Much of what we knew about Scarlett had been depicted by her sister in Stone Princess, she stayed behind with their abusive father when Presley ran. Scarlett was scared to leave, fearful of what would happen to her mother. Scarlett wrestles with feelings of cowardness and guilt. When in actuality she is strong, brave, and stubborn. While Luke is your classic good guy. The town sheriff is forced to wrestle with difficult decisions over the course of the story.
  • Pacing: The story is paced extremely well as Devney’s always are. She does such a good job of building tension as she reveals facets of the characters and of the challenges they will be facing little by little.
  • Setting: Clifton Forge, Montana is such a great setting for the story. I love the way Devney looks at a town that inhabitants are either part of a former motorcycle club or just normal small town peeps.
  • Romance: I absolutely adored the romance between Scarlett and Luke. It was the perfect amounts of both cutesy romance and hot hot hot sex. You could not help but root for these two. I also enjoyed that Devney did not make the obstacles to their relationship be things they were thinking like am I good enough for this kind of love. I enjoyed that they were dealing with bigger issues like FBI investigations and rival motorcycle gangs.

The Bribe receives five out of five stars.
